crossover_chick: Victor leaning over to look at a blue butterfly in a glass jar (CB: i has a happy thing)

As in, I had a cookie with my lunch -- went out and got a Subway meal deal, which is a sandwich, chips, a cookie, and a drink -- and then, when my parents came back from their day trip, Mom made chocolate chip cookies, and I had a bunch of those. (One hot out of the oven before supper, then four for dessert. No regrets!) It was a very sweets day, is what I'm saying. XD

Very quiet day too, up until the evening hours:

-->Did the usual "hanging around in my PJs until about noon reading TV Tropes" thing I do when it's not a cleaning Saturday

-->Watched two OXBox/OXtra videos with lunch -- one about NPCs that helped save your ass in difficult boss fights, one about transforming bosses who punished your cockiness: commenter edition. (Weirdly enough, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance made it onto both lists because it contains a transforming boss (Senator Armstrong, who turns out to be enhanced with nanomachines) and an NPC who helps save your butt (a robot dog named Wolf who retrieves for Raiden the one sword that can be used to counter Armstrong). So that was a bit strange for me)

-->After that was a Call Me Kevin video on Song of Horror -- a horror game about a mysterious presence in a mansion; the full game isn't out yet, but the creators are sending YouTubers special "one shot" demos where you get once chance to play the game with one of the selectable characters -- once they die, that's it. Kevin naturally picked the alcoholic groundskeeper and got him eaten by shadow demons behind a door about eleven minutes in. XD However, his voiceover indicates that you CAN play the demo again, you just have to pick a different character since the first one's dead -- the game will feature permadeath when you play the full version, so this is how they're showing that off. It was genuinely creepy, especially when you're watching alone in a house that occasionally makes noises! At least it was daylight. . .still want to see more, though. :P

-->And after that, an RT Gamer video on Hitman 2's latest level and elusive target (as usual, it was a chaos run with clown costumes, replenishing the minibar, and taking advantage of the fact that NPCs are kind of dumb and half-blind XD), and another 7 Second Riddle video with Jay and Gloom (some real mind-benders in this one! I approve. 7 Second Riddles upping its game here)!

-->And then (after some reading of the Not Always sites and such while waiting to see when my parents were coming home from New Hampshire), my own gaming time with Fallout 4! Which kind of became a case of "where the hell is all the ammo in this game" after I got into a few fights (super mutants, and a "Child of Atom," whom I believe comes from one of the DLCs -- scavved her gun after killing her, because anything that emits THAT MUCH radiation damage is not to be sneezed at) and noticed my stores running a bit low. So I ended up going back to some early-game areas to scavenge some more and see what I could find. Picked up some ammo, killed some raiders, got savaged a couple of times by mole rats until I decided NOT to take that route, ended up saving a farmer from some wild dogs instead, then went back toward my goal and stumbled upon another super mutant encampment. *sigh* Just trying to look at it all like good XP. Probably should be closer to level 20 by the time I reach Diamond City. . .at least I AM getting closer to the main plot. I just want to have enough bullets to shoot things along the way. :p

-->Parents did indeed come back from New Hampshire -- their trip was kind of a bust, unfortunately. Just one new package of antique chalk to show for it (Dad's kind of been collecting them). And then the timer on our ancient stove started going off and we couldn't shut it off without shutting off the power to the ENTIRE STOVE, and then we found a way to watch Halloween Wars (my parents are doing a free trial of YouTube TV, since that'll show the one Patriots game my dad can't watch on normal TV -- we don't have cable these days, too expensive), except a) it still had very annoying commercial breaks, and b) it kept -- debuffering, or something, after the commercial breaks, forcing us to completely exit the Roku app, then go back in, resume, and WATCH ANOTHER SET OF COMMERCIALS before we could get back to the show. Very irritating. >( At least the episode itself wasn't bad -- still no creators like the ones in the first series, but we had some good entries, especially in the spine-chiller. And hey, there were cookies afterward, so -- can't complain too much.

-->And final video of the day was the latest AShock The Fourth Wall, with another Hellraiser anthology comic, the Summer Special! Which -- okay, most of the stories were actually pretty decent, but the framing device -- a teacher dealing with some creepy kids telling stories of their "summer vacations" -- made absolutely no sense, especially with the stories presented (which often had nothing to do with summer, or even the kids). Linkara was quite annoyed by the false advertising. We also got an update on the Halloween storyline, which -- well, let's just say Lewis is taking every opportunity he can to dress up weird. XD

-->And I got the next Scene From Secundus up: Saving My Newly-Touched Friend From His Parents, Doc's perspective of that bit in Chapter 19 of "Secundus" where Doc's taking the newly-Touched and newly-sedated Victor out of Looking-Glass House and has to tell Nell that Victor's just gone Creative. Again, it's been edited (and added to -- I came to the conclusion the original one ended too abruptly), but I think it shows Doc's thoughts during that moment very well. Poor guy, he's tired and stressed and just wants to get his kid home. . .

And since they've been doing queues and the RP thing on tumblr (plus talking to a friend on there who needed some advice), so yeah. At least I'm all set up on Victor Luvs Alice for a little while. . .just gotta get to the stuff still sitting in my inbox now! Tomorrow -- well, tomorrow we're FINALLY going to get my costume and decorate the porch for Halloween. :D And I have a couple of videos to watch, plus some Sims 4 to play. Should be a good Sunday! One can hope, anyway. . .night all!
