Today SUCKED

So I'm going to do a friendship meme from [livejournal.com profile] fannish5, then watch/read about "Puma Man." Because it was an MST3K episode made of win. I think I'll watch more of my shorts tape tomorrow.
At any rate, the five:
What are your five favorite canonical friendships?

1. Doc Brown and Marty McFly -- Oh, like this wouldn't get the top spot. A wonderful friendship that transverses a large age boundary, and features multiple instances of life-saving.
2. Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger -- Harry Potter trio ahoy! Great friends who can have some real knock-down, drag-out arguments and come through it anyway. (Thinking mostly of "Deathly Hallows" here)
3. Sam Starfall and Helix -- Of a favorite webcomic of mine, Freefall. Sam's a larcenous alien, Helix is a good-natured robot. They get into plenty of mischief together. It's a wonder their engineer, Flo, has stayed sane. (Then again, she's a genetically-engineered talking wolf. . . .)
4. Agatha Heterodyne and Krosp I -- Another webcomic pair, from Girl Genius. Agatha's the titular Girl Genius, and Krosp is her cat companion. No, not her pet -- Krosp is a construct, a superintelligent cat with the brain of a general. Despite being very much a cat, he and Agatha really do care for each other -- he considers her his "subject," and will defend her with all he has.
5. Riff and Torg -- And once more, webcomicness, with Sluggy Freelance. There's just something special about these two -- Riff being a Mad Scientist, Torg a web-designer and everyman. They love beer, beautiful girls, and getting into major trouble.
