Me: *gearing up after getting my room cleaned that morning and having lunch with the fam* Okay, so I bought a HOUSE this past year, that probably means my taxes are super complicated, I'd better figure on spending at least a good few hours on this --
TurboTax: Hey, so since you bought that house in the middle of the year and haven't paid a lot of interest on your mortgage yet, the deductions you could get from it are actually less than if you did the standard deduction
Me: ?!
TurboTax: So yeah your taxes are almost the same as they were last time; same with your refunds. And you're done in about an hour!
Me: . . .Okay then. . . *files taxes and boots up BioShock 2*
So, um, yes, that was easier than expected. AND I got a letter in the mail saying that RI did some calculations and now they need to give me a bit of extra money on my LAST refund because apparently they didn't give me enough. Okay then! I'll take whatever you've got. Could use it all. I guess any complicated stuff with the house will kick in next year, when I'll have had it for over a year. On the plus side, should also mean a bigger refund. Worry about it next March!
With that out of the way, I was free to concentrate on other stuff! Stuff like:
-->Editing another bit of "The Technicolor Phase" (okay, actually I did this BEFORE I did my taxes; did the "Victoria's first color" bit, which she got from Hildegarde)
-->Playing BioShock 2 (got past Simon Wales's locked door -- after narrowly surviving an ambush from Spider Splicers; did my second gather with my Little Sister and rescued her at the nearby vent; killed the resultant Big Sister that attacked me, went goodie exploring through the ramshackle rooftops outside the Little Sister Orphange; swapped Insect Swarm for Security Command since that's apparently good against Rumbler Big Daddies and got myself the "Scout" Plasmid that lets me explore outside my actual body and look for danger; killed a bunch of splicers; and went up against a Rumbler to pick up my third Little Sister. Security Command DOES work pretty well on making stuff attack them, but what really did the job was the Spear Gun I've picked up. Too bad there's such a big pause between shots! Died a couple of times to the bastard before finally getting him. At least it looks like both ADAM gathering opportunities are nearby, so I can get that and save the kid quickly before moving on.)
-->Watching Helloween's latest System Shock 2 set (poor man is CHEWING through his heals thanks to focusing on psi skills over combat or hacking; doesn't help that there are evil monkeys and robots all the over the place) and last Donkey Kong 3 set (he got very salty over how dull the Lost World levels were, particularly the final boss fight and the minigames you need to play to get the 'true' ending -- don't blame him, the game did feel like a step down after the second one)
-->Watching some old Sim Supply videos (James managed, through a LOT of cheating, to make households with 100 toddlers (and 1 adult Sim) and TWO HUNDRED toddlers (and 1 adult Sim). As you might imagine, his game both times was lagging out and glitching something awful. But hilariously too. XD)

And, as per usual for Saturdays, I'm currently doing the tumblr RP thing. Managing to keep up with that a lot better this weekend than I was last weekend -- then again, this weekend I'm not drowning in anon asks. So that's good. Time to get back to that -- night all!
