A Humid And Thundery Tuesday
Yes, not nice weather at all -- it started out hot and sticky, stayed hot and sticky, and then got thunderstormy in the evening! We didn't get anything TOO horrible, but we got a blast of torrential rain and high winds, plus some pretty gnarly lightning. Good thing I had my iPad to amuse myself with various games! And that it didn't stick around too long, either. Though tomorrow's supposed to have a similar risk of poor weather. . .we'll see what happens!
As for my various Items of Interest:
Work – Not too bad, especially for the day after a long weekend – mostly just getting to grips with e-mails and wrestling with a few annoying batches and transactions. And my talky coworker was out sick, soooo. . . :p Yeah, not a bad Tuesday at all under the circumstances.
Beanbags – Nope! Too humid to start, and then the thunderstorms started rolling in not long after I got home. I doubt tomorrow will be much better, but maybe by the end of the week.
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check! Another thirty on the bike before the real thunder and lightning started. Ended up watching part of a video on cosmic horror in the Bethesda-era Fallout games, which is pretty interesting. I’ve gotten through their coverage on Fallout 3 and its Dunwich Building with its creepy obelisk, and I’m currently watching the Fallout 4 stuff – the Dunwich Borers quarry has already been covered, and now we’re working on the Cabot House stuff. It’s a fun watch so far! When YouTube isn’t glitching out on the TV, anyway, but that could possibly be blamed on the thunderstorm, so. . .
2. Edit some more on “Londerland Bloodlines”: Check! Break in the weather allowed me a shower and some writing time – Alice has gotten through Dr. St. Martin’s e-mails (and is not impressed with his cheating ways) and his patient list (and feels particularly sorry for one ‘V. Van Dort,’ who was struck by a car earlier). No word on where her werewolf blood is, though. . .but through the magic of narrative convenience, I’m just about to cut her a break. :p Hey, it beats stumbling blind through the clinic trying to find it!
3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check! Lucky for me, the thunderstorms moved along in time for me to watch all three videos uploaded today, so that’s good. :) Keepin’ on keepin’ on –
A) Started with James Turner and more “Rags to Redecoration” – along with the announcement that his early-access look at Cottage Living shall be showing up shortly! Apparently he’s somehow gotten Chaz Ricks into the pack and has started that LP, so that’ll be interesting. . . As for Hazel, she had two major things happen over the course of the episode – first being, a trip to the Humor and Hijinks festival with Hanna! Her maybe-sorta girlfriend invited her, and they did end up having their first kiss there. James isn’t convinced this is going to be a forever relationship, but she was at least really good for getting Hazel’s mischief skill maxed. :) And now Hazel’s got a voodoo doll bound to her, which – would be more amusing if the voodoo doll did more stuff. Meh.
The other thing was her next renovation job – a Fabulous Living Room renovation for a guy living in a very sad base game house. No couch, just a couple of armchairs separated by a lamp – and doors EVERYWHERE. James took a moment to alter the brief and move a few doors around so he had more wall space to work with. The actual renovation proved fairly simple – Hazel just gave the walls a fresh coat of paint; replaced the floorboards with something darker; added a couch and a proper TV cabinet; and even updated the dining room table. But the guy was in favor – well, of everything except the little Journey to Batuu bottle James snuck in claiming it was a salt shaker. XD But Hazel got paid, managed to swipe a nice painting, and came home to her loving doggie, so it’s all good. Another big level renovation next time – hopefully nothing too glitchy!
B) Then it was over to Call Me Kevin, back to Sims 2 in the timeline BEFORE CallMeKevin TheYoutuber (his Sim self) died in a terrible fire. The cats have still been taken away, but that does not matter, for Kevin had a cunning plan! Said plan was – call over his lover and enemy Vidcund Curious; invite him and his brothers to move in with him and his children; send the brothers to drown in the pool while he spends all Vidcund’s money on a bunch of statues (because he didn’t want to just be handed a giant pile of simoleons); trap Vidcund on the back porch with the telescope, a “breakfast bar” made up of some counters and a wall, and private access to the bathroom; then get Vidcund up to the top of his aspiration so he can summon aliens. . .and get pregnant with them. Because Kevin’s new plan, now that the cats didn’t work out, is to somehow make money off alien children! XD He did warn us it was dark when he started the video, to be fair. . . Along the way, he had more stuff repossessed (including his own nice bed), learned how to summon grilled cheese from the ether, and his own twins became teenagers (one grew up poorly, the other grew up somehow okay). And Vidcund got married to Kevin in the bathroom and had his own first baby, Test Tube 1! XD Oh, this is such a twisted series. . .Jim Pickens would approve. XD
C) And then it was time for GrayStillPlays and a return to Universe Sandbox 2! Because there was an update allowing him to screw with clouds and atmospheric weight, meaning he wanted to try and create hurricanes that would backhand meteors into the sun. XD He – didn’t QUITE succeed, but he did do some pretty fascinating things. Did you know that if the clouds are going around the earth at lightspeed with the atmospheric weight at ten times normal, they zip around in super-hurricanes that kill pretty much half of Earth’s ability to sustain life right off the bat? And they spread the fire from meteor strikes without mercy, eventually shrinking the Earth to a third of its normal size? And at a BILLION (or possibly TRILLION if you believe the comments) lightspeed, with atmospheric pressure jacked up to the limit, you get INSTANT VAPORIZATION the minute a space object comes anywhere NEAR us. It’s, uh, pretty epic. XD
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check, partially in progress – Valice Multiverse is completely set, with four asks and a reblog of last year’s wedding-themed fic round-up for Victor and Alice’s anniversary. Victor Luvs Alice is set for tomorrow with the Chill Save wedding update – I’m going to try and finish up my planned Thursday post and get the others ready to go as well before heading to bed.
Aand that's about it! And now I've got an extra day off for the combined House Anniversary and Valice Anniversary. :) Let's get a to-do list going:
1. Write something appropriately romantic/sweet for the Valice Anniversary
2. Watch the OXBox Hitman videos in the Watch Later along with YouTube Subs
3. Play Sims 4: The Chill Save and see if I can get through Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with that Victor and Alice
4. Get in a workout
This all seems reasonable. *nods* I'm gonna go answer my DW comment now, then get to work on that Thursday post for Victor Luvs Alice. Night all!
