crossover_chick: picture of Alice (Wonderland) in front of the swirling purple Wonderland tunnel (AMA: Alice down the rabbit hole)
Parents are still testing positive, I'm still testing negative, things continue as they have since Monday. *sigh* I suppose that it could be a hell of a lot worse, but I will be very glad once they finally test negative and things can get back to some sort of normality around here. Fingers crossed for that happening soon!

As for my to-do list --

Work – Today was mostly another quiet day at work doing loads of roster maintenance – but this time, it was book-ended by a mystery, as a church called up to ask about a missing check from a donor, and I had to reach out to our processors after research indicated they’d received both a check and a credit card gift but only processed the latter. Turns out the former was still stuck inside of the envelope. *facepalm* So that’ll be going back to the donor now! But yeah, other than that, nothing much going on here. I expect much the same to be true for tomorrow – we’ll see!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – another night on the bike, another night with the GrayStillPlays compilation “Dangerous Roller Coasters in Video Games!” I finished off the video of Gray “curing people of their fear of heights” in Planet Coaster by creating a horrible volcano of roller coasters shooting into the sky through the head of off-brand Muppet Herman The Frog and then crashing into the crowds below (he also added fireworks informing everyone they were fucked, and as many businesswomen tumbling into the sky that he could possibly shove in there); then watched a video of Gray playing Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 and creating an inverted loop roller coaster that went like the speed of light (and seriously, this thing went so fast it kept crashing the game – the car wouldn’t even properly render after a bit, it was just this vague amorphous light-thing on the track. XD Gray also, as a bonus, created a waterslide into the pool that stopped on the concrete edge – oh, and I should mention that, at one point, he got an award for Safest Park. Obviously BEFORE he started subjecting people to hundreds of Gs on the Loop Of Agony, but still!); and started a video of Gray creating the world’s slowest roller coaster in Planet Coaster (it goes two miles per hour and takes literally YEARS to go around the very flat track). This is a very interesting compilation for me because so far, most of the videos included in it are ones that I have not seen! I’m starting to think that Gray is either sharing some Members-Only stuff in this one, OR is pulling videos from before I started watching his channel regularly (I only came in during his “experiments in Sims 4” days, and he already had plenty of stuff before that). Possibly both. *shrug* But it’s been a lot of fun to watch, and I look forward to wrapping it up tomorrow!

2. Start final posting edits on “Start At The Beginning...Sort Of” Chapter 5: Check – though it looked a little dicey there for a minute! Mostly because FF.net apparently pushed out an update to their Document Manager earlier today, and now the damn thing isn’t displaying correctly – it’s just spitting out raw HTML instead of providing the “rich text” interface I usually work with over there. *grumble* So I ended up copying the code into the AO3 posting editor, then figured out how to save the chapter as a draft so I could edit it directly over there instead. Took a little while to get used to it, but eventually I got back into my editing groove! I have so far covered from the very beginning of the chapter, through Alice summarizing her history for Victor and Smiler, up to when Smiler proposed going to their parents for help – only to remember “oh, right, they’re back in Silkshore.” XD No major changes – just fixing some typos and making a few minor tweaks here and there – but still, gotta be done! I’ll get back to it tomorrow and see how far I can get – I don’t expect to be done with this before Saturday, given that this particular chapter is 24 pages long in Writer. ^^; Look, it’s the exposition chapter, what can I say.

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Substitution Check – as the only thing in my Subs was another GSP compilation (more videos of him torturing stickmen in various ways), I instead turned to the weekly OXtra list for my video watching tonight – “7 Agonising Decisions With Secret Third Options!” Andy and Ellen talking about those times in games where you can screw the system and find a good choice sneakily hidden between two bad ones! Your companions at the end of Dino Crisis offer you two choices that will either lead to one of them dying or the bad guy escaping capture? Agree to one and then swan off to find a secret helicopter that will allow you to apprehend the antagonist AND save your buddy! Faced with only being able to save either the whistleblower planning to expose the evil private military contractor or the innocent civilians behind held prisoner in their base from poison gas in Deus Ex: Human Revolution – The Missing Link? If you know where you’re going, you can find the poison gas dispenser and wreck it to save everyone! Find the FIB demanding you kill Trevor and the asshole billionaire Devin demanding you kill Michael while playing as Franklin at the end of GTA V? ...Well, Michael’s voice actor would argue that killing Trevor is the right thing to do, but fans of the game would probably say, “But playing the epic ‘Deathwish’ ending sequence where the trio team up to take EVERYONE out is waaay more fun.” XD Point is, sometimes things are NOT binary in video games, and figuring out another option can be most rewarding!

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check and check –

Victor Luvs Alice – Got the Song Saturday reblog of that music video I found for Severance to “Love Me More” by Mitski sorted, so I’m good over here for the next two days, yay~ Hopefully I can get some more drafting done this weekend!

Valice Multiverse – Had one reblog from Toonsisters about the Valicer Chibis she made for the Valicer In The Dark crew (featuring her telling Alice that if she explained how she made them, Alice’s brain would melt out her ears – Alice was concerned – and spooking the Victor Chibi to show off his adorable squeak – Victor was not amused and Smiler gave the poor little guy some pats), and one ask from Satirical Demon from his BABS verse, with a tour guide showing off the Egg Registry for professional performer clowns and saying that they had a DIFFERENT registry for “domesticated clowns” (I went with VITD for the answer to that one again and had Alice be like “one of these days we have to have a contest regarding which of our worlds is more fucked up” while Smiler was like “are the – domesticated clowns’ markings also on eggs?” XD). So those were both nice!

So that's all sorted, at least. And now it's time for me to head to bed and prepare to face my first full-length Friday since the beginning of July, meeeh. *sigh* Hopefully I survive -- night all!
