A Low-Key Sunday
Allow me to sum it up like so:
-->Spent the morning catching up on stuff I'd missed yesterday thanks to the cleaning, like tags and tumblrs and whatnot
-->Had lunch with the family, then decided to go ahead and just make my muffins then so I wouldn't have to worry about it this evening -- they came out good
-->Went back to Nexus Mods to check that load order list I'd saved for Fallout 4 and see if anything else caught my eye -- and something did, a mod called "Atomic Radio." Turns out that was one of the mods related to "Tales of the Commonwealth," a quest mod I was interested in. It was still getting rave reviews in the "posts" tab up to this day, which was a good sign. . .
And then I listened to some samples of the commercials on offer in the Atomic Radio station.
And promptly downloaded everything because hello MAJOR V:tM-B vibes here?! Seriously, both the cigarette commercial and the Grognak movie commercial were the BEST. Would have fit right in with Bloodlines. Have to have in my game. And I'll take the quests, companions, and new settlers on offer too.
-->And I in fact added a new mod to my game and played a little of it! Granted, it's a simple bug-fixing mod (helps prevent/fix weird facial discoloring in the game), and I only did one "help defend the farm" mission to make sure the game was still functioning and faces looked all right (they did, and the Finches were successfully saved from raiders in power armor -- I swear, that farm has the shittiest luck), but you know what? After so long NOT booting up my game? It counts. I might try and sneak it another quick mod tomorrow afternoon, after getting home from work. AND I have another long stretch of time out of the office at the end of this week/beginning of the next, so I'll have some time to catch up there too! Would be nice to get everything in, make sure the game hasn't exploded, then FINALLY get started on my "let's do this thing right" playthrough.
-->Also played another few rounds on the beanbag toss game with the fam, since it was nice outside (if not quite as nice as the past two days). Dad won all three games, but I came in second once! And got a few good shots through the holes. Just gotta keep practicing!
-->Today on YouTube:
A) A quick Fluffy Ninja Llama video about companion reactions to visiting a basketball court set up in the mayor's old fallout shelter – most are very salty about a) the mayor HAVING such a thing in their shelter or b) basketball as a sport. Only Curie seemed excited, poor thing.
B) Paul from the Mitten Squad going through Fallout 4 using each weapon only once – well, sort of. He was only allowed one KILL with each "normal" weapon (guns, melee, and fists) – he got one SHOT with "area of effect" weapons like grenades and missile launchers. It was – an interesting run, that's for sure. XD The early game wasn't too difficult, but by the end he was running out of unique weapon types – to the point where he decided a "Swatter," sold by baseball bloodsport enthusiast Moe, was different than a standard baseball bat. So he beat the game (siding with the Institute again – though he actually left the Railroad ALIVE for a while! That's shocking), but I'm not sure if he really beat his challenge. He admitted the whole thing was to set up a "can you beat Fallout 4 without actually attacking anybody" challenge, which – yeah, I suspect that's a big NO.
C) A quick Fun With Shorts featuring "American Look 3," which was essentially five minutes showing people designing the insides of "futuristic" 50s cars to incongruously peppy music. XD Well, it's always fun to see what exactly people in the 50s thought the future would look like! And it was strangely appropriate after all the Fallout 4 stuff.
D) And then time for a quick Call Me Kevin marathon! In order:
1. Bartender VR, where Kevin learned that making drinks for discerning customers is a fiddly, FIDDLY process (especially when you need to adjust your headset and end up accidentally spilling the drink)
2. Sea of Thieves, where Kevin along with RTGame and a couple of other friends caused havoc on the high seas, trying unsuccessfully to make friends with other boats (and getting firebombed by one guy in the process) and visiting the same island three times in their quest for bounties XD
3. Dragon's Den Ireland, where Kevin watched the Irish take on those shows where rich investors make people pitch products to them to see if they'll invest – this episode involved two guys with supplements that had no actual retail price (everyone was out); a guy with amazing sauces (but everyone was still out); a pair of girls making some sort of bag for medicines? I didn't quite catch it (pretty sure at least one person went in); and a guy selling his bull "Perfect Storm's" "juice" to help breed better cows (one guy went in and Kevin couldn't stop laughing)
4. Think of the Children, where Kevin once again showed off his incredible parenting skills by yeeting children basically trying to kill themselves out of danger. And then giving up and just trying to get his assigned tasks done as quickly as possible to minimize the deaths XD
-->Did some more on "Secundus 2" Chapter 8 -- the gang has met up with Jennifer, and Doc's going off to meet Clara! So that's good. :D This will be followed by a quick visit to the buffet, and then some dancing, and some friendly competitive shooting between Marty and Christopher. Good times, good times. . .
-->And I'm currently finishing off my Valice Multiverse queue and getting some of my pictures ready for this week's Newcrest Adventure's update! You know, usual Sunday night stuff. :p
So yeah, that was my day -- not too bad, and it was nice to actually play some FO4 again. Even a simple "help the settlers defend themselves" mission. Tomorrow should be interesting -- back at the office, and for long enough that I have to bring a lunch. *sigh* Not really looking forward to it, but I shall continue to use many Lysol wipes and sanitize my hands often. And it's only three days this week, which helps. Just gotta get through Wednesday. . .wish me luck, everyone! Night all!
