Slightly Earlier Wednesday

Like, VERY slightly, but it IS still earlier than I have started the last couple of updates. XD Anyway, about my day --

Work – A somewhat less quiet Wednesday, mostly because Talky Coworker was back and that meant I had to listen to her yap on about shit with my other coworker. *sigh* Also, there were a handful of phone calls, including fixing someone’s parish affiliation and making sure someone’s credit card was good. But other than that, pretty much the same as yesterday, with a heavy focus on cleaning up some of the roster maintenance we’ve gotten. *shrug* We’ll see what tomorrow brings!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike again, back with the GrayStillPlays compilation “100 Cars vs Impossible Odds!” Finished off the “Infinite Loops” challenge (after proving the bumper car could actually do a couple of loops, shockingly, Gray finally found the right vehicle and conquered the loops – before getting trolled by Alex by being put back right at the beginning in front of a fake wall before the win XD) and I’m maybe halfway through the “Mudder” challenge (with Gray testing cars against challenges in the mud – so far the Wastelander has won two out of the four completed, BUT proven that it cannot do pig rolls or donuts, so its lead is not unassailable…). I SHOULD be able to finish this video off tomorrow, as I have roughly 35 minutes left – might have to watch a minute or two after supper, but that’s fine, it’s all “repeats” anyway. :p

2. Continue editing “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland”: Check – Alice has safely delivered the briefcase to Fat Larry, and used her resulting line of 500 dollar’s worth of “store credit” to get herself a better gun, some ammo, and the first level of proper armor in the game – a nice padded black jacket that I am pretty sure I stole off the Brujah’s fem model. XD What, Alice isn’t going to wear the fem Malkavian’s armor – she wants to cover more skin, not less! But yes, she finally has something that should stop her ruining at least her shirts so much. :p I left things off right before Fat Larry mentions that his girl Venus needs someone like Alice to do a job for her too – we’ll get into that particular set of side-quests next week!

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – double trouble Wednesday tonight –

A) First up, we had Josh Way and “RAW TAKE: Alien Romulus Review!” Said review being “a few bits of bringing back legacy stuff – especially one of the old characters – didn’t quite land for me, and I am slightly annoyed about how the entire cast is young hot people, but overall this was a rollicking good spooky time I can highly recommend.” With a bit of bitching about how Hollywood is prioritizing these “lega-sequels” and suchlike over cool original properties tacked on at the end. As Josh does. XD But yes, if you are a fan of the Alien franchise and would like a good thrilling horror movie set in the verse, this sounds like the movie for you!

B) Then we had GrayStillPlays and “Testing Cars vs Balloons in GTA5!” Yes, today put Gray against everyone’s favorite party favor as he had to find the right vehicle to complete the following floaty challenges –

I. Balloon Walls – a pair of floating balloon walls past ramps that Gray had to blast through – the first single-layered, the second double-layered. Nothing too exciting here, though it was fun to see the balloons fly apart. :)

II. Balloon Clogged Cavity – a narrow tunnel clogged with balloons that ended in a ramp over a jump JUUUST long enough to make things difficult. And Gray couldn’t just knock all the balloons out, as a few were “rubber-banded” to their spots (that is, they would snap back to where they were after a moment). This is where things got interesting, and Gray had to get creative to get some vehicles through.

III. Up 2: Neighborhood Journey – a bunch of houses (and one guy) floating from balloons and going around in an endless circle – Gray had to ramp off the roofs of the houses to reach the other side and the teleporter to the next challenge. He considered this one quite clever and cool-looking, all things considered. :)

IV. Balloon Speedrun – a line of nine giant balloons that Gray had to drive on top of! Which was not easy, as he got bounced around a LOT and had a tendency to just lose all of his speed. Gray accused THIS one of belong in American Gladiator or the like. XD

V. Balloons Getting Bigger – a bunch of balloons, each one bigger than the last, waiting in the middle of a series of gaps for Gray to jump and smack them out of the way. And Gray DID have to smack them, because as it turned out, these balloons were all attached to a bunch of slow-down sticks in front of the ramp behind them. If Gray didn’t hit them, he had no way of continuing. Fortunately once Gray figured out the trick, the whole thing turned out to be pretty easy, since the balloons got to be bigger and bigger targets each time. :p

VI. Hit The Balloon Pig (to make it more fun I didn’t test it) – and finally, a randomly-gyrating “flying pig” balloon (complete with cheeky grin), floating above the houses of Vinewood in front of a constantly-moving ramp. This one was basically up to sheer luck whether or not Gray had lined his attempt up right. And we all know how much Gray loves a blind-luck-based challenge! XD

So what was the vehicle that finally made it to the end? Well, the Clown Van and the Sherp were eliminated from contention early, and most of the other cars were clogged down by the Balloon Clogged Cavity. The two super-cars in the line-up were low enough to just plow through the cavity and get past the flying neighborhood, but neither of them could do the Balloon speedrun. Leaving the winner and ultimate champion as the Nagasaki motorcycle! A bike that could blast through the walls, cheat the cavity by going up on the side wall and then ramping off a balloon to make the jump (which Gray considered one of the best things he’s done in a challenge – and hell, even the license plate said “CHEAT,” so…), ramp off rooftops, bounce over the balloon speedrun, smack away all the slowly-swelling balloons, and even hit the pig – though the first time, Gray was going too fast and ended up shooting over the wall that was supposed to stop him so he could get the win. XD But he got it again and actually managed to STOP that time. XD So yeah, never send a car to do a bike’s job, it seems. :p

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – just Victor Luvs Alice tonight, which is good because my focus hasn’t been great. But I got the post covering the crew special abilities and upgrades for the Valicer In The Dark trio sorted and into the queue for tomorrow, and did a very rough draft of an idea for an “ask game” post encouraging people to ask me about my various AUs – which includes AUs that I have only mentioned obliquely or not at all and generally only have a deranged life of their own in my head. Including the newest one that’s based on the Apple TV show Severance which is incidentally WHY I am so distracted lately, because it is STRANGLING MY BRAIN. *sigh* Why am I like this...

So, yeah, there you have it. An average Wednesday in the life of Victoria. And now I really need to log off and head to bed before my brain tries to distract me further/demands I look up more Severance stuff. At least the weather has been nice and cooler, meaning it's easier for me to get to sleep! Don't need the AC at all -- MIGHT need the fan tonight, but we'll see. *shrug* Night all!
