Poking Around Bodyshop

Decided today to get a head start on future Simming -- I downloaded that pale greyscale skin from Genesims, then got into Bodyshop (after some loading trouble) and set about making me a Victor. He's not perfect, but I can't expect perfection -- his body is always gonna look too thick. *shrug* I do think I captured a Simmified version of his face. Little iffy on the skintone I picked, I might try and download another. And of course his hair remains a problem. (Actually, his forehead in general is a problem. Mostly because, if you really look at him, Victor doesn't really have one. But if I do that with his Simself, his eyes don't line up at all with his ears, which is even weirder, so. . . .) But I think that, with perhaps a little extra CAS tweaking, he'll do.

I also fussed around in Inkwell Secundus -- plopped in a few apartment lots and an empty residential beach lot. There's actually not all that much to the Twikki Island template -- I'll have to be careful with my real estate. I also went into CAS to check out my new Victor, and to conduct an experiment. I tweaked him in CAS, modeled clothes on him (mmmmm), then pulled up the Alices I downloaded. Yeah, Alices -- I have two, one a teen and one an adult. The adult one I downloaded just for her dress. I aged the teen version up, discovered her teenage hair got -- not exactly borked, more that the matching color didn't exist in adult, so I switched it with a red hair and removed her makeup bangs. I modeled some clothes on her, and then used the "make a kid" option in CAS to see what potential offspring between her and Victor would look like. I got some frightening options, but I got some cute ones too, so it's a crapshoot. Victor and Alice themselves make adorable kids. (And no, I'm afraid I have no pictures at this time -- I was busy with my experiment and also helping Dad with stuff.) Tomorrow I'll either be building houses or maybe making a new family for Twin Oaks Park. ;)

Oh, and in related Sims news, I found my brassy Servos! Turns out a guy at MATY made a recolor. Unfortunately, they're default replacements, and it appears you can't do much else when it comes to Servos. (I thought they were recolorable like the other robots, but I guess because they're technically Sims. . . .) So now I have to decide if I want all my Servos steampunky or not. Hmmm.

In other news, I got some of the textbooks I need for college. Two of them hadn't arrived yet from the publisher. >.< Considering school starts next week, I'd like to know what the hold-up is. We're gonna try again on Thursday, though Dad's also gonna look in Lincoln for me when Mom goes to her lab course. I am also somewhat on edge because there's a good chance we might be hit with a hurricane at the end of the week. Hurricane Earl is apparently headed for the coast. If he hits offshore, we should be okay, but if he comes onshore. . .Well, you might not be hearing too much from me for a while. I really do NOT want to have to live through a hurricane. *eyes her stuffs nervously* Keep your fingers crossed it stays offshore!
