Okay, Not Too Bad A Tuesday
Still had to suffer through some political talk from my coworkers, but fortunately the Talker was a bit quieter today, and I had plenty of stuff to occupy me. Granted, some of that stuff was annoying credit card stuff, but that's just a given these days, really. *sigh* Just plugging along as best I can. . .
Evening has been pretty solid, though:
1. Work some more on the Valice Multiverse "information page" stuff: Check! I updated the “Catch Us If You Can” verse section with some of the information from my original “verses” pages, rewriting here and there. I also organized up the “Marie Multipack” section a bit, as the “verse” where I’m going to keep my tags for all of her verses that we play in together. It’s coming together!
2. Keep up with my YouTube Subscriptions: Check! Three videos, all sorted –
A) Started with a new upload from James Turner – another building challenge! This one was the “one bigger cubes” challenge, essentially – each room had to be one bigger in dimensions. So 1x1, 2x2, 3x3 and so on. James went up to 8x8, putting the biggest room at the top of the house – and theeen proceeded to maybe not allocate his space that well. A very nice living room got crammed into the 4x4, while the bedroom was like 7x7 or something and needed platforms and a homemade “walk-in wardrobe” to fill it up. XD Honestly, none of the individual rooms were that bad (except maybe the bathroom, where James for some reason went with a shower/tub combo in the 2x2 instead of a shower so he could try to fit a sink), but put together. . .it’s a bit of a weird house. James blames being distracted watching Contagion while building. XD At least it’s fun?
B) Moved onto the final episode of CallMeKevin’s Rust series – going around raiding with Ziqqo and OptimalFailure! They killed a few people, burned down a few doors (for some reason, they let KEVIN have the flamethrower, which – doesn’t seem optimal), floated around on inner tubes on the lake (yes, this is a thing you can do in this game – Kevin had a cute unicorn inner tube!), and attacked the NPCs’ oil rig and claimed it for the mole people! Kevin also harvested some skulls and developed a taste for human flesh, because, well, Kevin. XD He also somehow got someone to give him the best armor in the game, because also Kevin. O.o Leveled up his Speech Skill indeed. . . Unfortunately he ended up dying while investigating a raid on Toxic’s base (which may have been blowing up thanks to them telling a guy they accidentally killed that it was theirs). So ends his time with Z and Optimal. A shame. We’ll see if he comes back to the game later – he mentioned an addiction, after all. . .
C) And finally, more GrayStillPlays Happy Wheels! More bottle flips with awesome flippage (Gray somehow managed to get a bottle in the win area of one BEFORE THE WIN WAS UNLOCKED), more bottle runs with incredible speed (he lost a leg but made it to the end), more rope swings that are a pain in his ass (who knew transferring conveyor belts could be this hard?), and – well, something a bit new – a board where you have to break into a house as pogo man! This is – more difficult than you might imagine. Mostly because glass in this game can and will kill you if you look at it wrong. XD But he made it through and collected all the homeowner’s money, so we are golden, baby! XD Good work, Gray. :p
3. Get in a workout: Check! More time on the bike, more time with Jon’s Fallout 4 Survival Playthrough! Stayed in Vault 75 for this ride – after finding the lab access card, Jon took a moment to do the shooting range again to see if he could get a good score. Grills Bears is now top of the leaderboard, yay. XD With his new card, he went exploring some more, killing more Gunners and piecing together more of the story from various terminals – for example, one in the testing area had been hacked by two of the older boys apparently planning some sort of revolution, while another in the observation area over the range detailed how one of the kids, Washington, was selected to join the research team. Of course, it took finding the Admin Access card and getting access to the Chief Scientist and Overseer terminals to get a better picture – namely, of an experiment to fast-track the human genome toward excellence. Basically, what they did was cull the initial adults, then take the kids and train them up to be as smart and strong as possible. Kids who were superior in all categories were taken away at the age of 18 to be “harvested,” while kids who weren’t great physically but good mentally were offered jobs among the science team. And those who weren’t either. . .well, there’s mentions of incinerators. Jon wasn’t sure how they were making new kids to continue filling the vault, theorizing that they must have some sort of artificial womb somewhere – I’m not sure myself, but I bet you it’s horrifying! At any rate, the quest ended when Jon opened up the Overseer’s quarters to collect the Grognak comic and the chest inside, but I’m not sure we’ve still heard the whole story. Episode’s not over yet, and there might be more to find in the vault. (Interestingly, he was theorizing at one point that the vault might be the origins of the Gunners – super soldiers who formed a mercenary crew after revolting. Canon doesn’t support that, but I kind of like the idea of any survivors of the vault joining up with crews like that! Maybe some of the human legendaries are the result of this program?)
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check! Got my Newcrest Adventures update for my Victor Luvs Alice tumblr, and threads and asks for tomorrow on Valice Multiverse! :) And it occurs to me that I know what I can post this week for Thursday and Friday – the announcements that my first drafts of “Londerland Bloodlines” and “In A World Of His Own” are done! So that’s nice and ahead of the curve! :)
So yeah, not too shabby! Now I just have to answer my DW comment, aaand -- pretty much got the night to myself here! Nice to have a day off. Granted, again, I'm hoping it's an overreaction day off to whatever might happen tomorrow. . .on the other hand, it's also supposed to be shitty weather with cold and snow showers, so I'm happy enough to stay home and off the road. :p
All right -- let's set up the to-do list for tomorrow and work from there:
1. Continue working on the Valice Multiverse "information page" stuff
2. Watch the two OXBox/OXtra lists that just got added to my Watch Later, along with YouTube Subscription videos
3. Play Fallout 4 and see if I can make it into Concord and save Preston
4. Get in a workout
Yeah, that seems good, given I'm also going to be watching at least a bit of the inauguration at noon. . .which means I can't stay up TOO late tonight, as I expect we'll be having lunch around the same time. Probably shouldn't screw up my sleep schedule too badly in the middle of the week anyway. . .see if I can get to bed around 1 at the latest. *nods* Night all!
