crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
Didn't start out great (woke up early thanks to "used to waking up at seven" combined with "yikes I need to pee," had to wait a while for Dad to get out of the bathroom, then took me a bit to get back to sleep because I was cold), but once I caught another hour or so and got up properly, I was able to get through my to-do list very well:

1. Work some more on the Valice Multiverse "information page" stuff: Check! Mostly re-editing the pages for “Forgotten Vows” and “Secundus” – I decided there was value in my old summaries of the verses and transferred them, with appropriate edits, to the document. I’ll probably do the same with the other verses that are being kept from the old set, as needed – might as well reuse what I’ve got, right? Anything that might make this process go faster. . .

2. Watch the Hitman 2 OXBox livestream and Plumbella's latest renovation video in my Watch Later, along with catching up on Gray and Kevin in my Subscriptions: Check! All caught up with nowhere to go! XD

A) Started with Plumbella’s renovation – of James Turner’s starter house in Snowy Escape! Yeah, after learning what happened with the “oatmeal house” (namely, James went for all those light tones because the house was originally on GRASS – they changed his lot to a sandy one at the last minute, meaning the landscape and the house blended into each other), she decided it was her duty to try and do him proud. And I think she succeeded! She dropped some grass on the lot itself (blending it on the edges with the sand around the lot), adjusted the roof, changed up the outside color scheme to darker wood tones (she wanted a “tree” vibe), rearranged the interior. . .it all came together pretty nicely in the end! With the sole exception of I think the bathtub is blocking the doorway in the finished house, because she turned moveobjects on at one point and did a LOT of renovation of that bathroom. But hey, it still looks pretty cool! :) Good on her for trying to fix EA doing James dirty.

B) Then moved onto the Hitman 2 OXBox livestream – the idea was it was kind of a send-off for the game, since Hitman 3 is due out soon. And their idea of a send-off? Assassinate themselves within the game! No, genuinely – turns out the people behind the newest Hitman games threw in a bunch of NPCs in the Columbia level of Hitman 2, with Spanish names that reference the OXBoxers! (Like, Mike’s was Miguelito, and his middle name was Spanish for “Explosions.” XD) So Mike tracked them all down, eliminated them, and then made a contract for Jane to try during the stream. They even had optional takedown methods referencing them and how they play – Luke’s counterpart had to fall from somewhere; Mike’s had to be exploded (natch); Ellen’s had to be a pistol shot to the head; Andy’s had to be taken down stealthily while unarmed; and Jane’s had to be got with a screwdriver. Jane took quite a while to get through them all, and it wasn’t pretty (multiple costume changes, being hunted twice, getting screwed over by accidentally taking Andy out with close combat to the face instead of a sneaky behind-the-back takedown, for a second thinking she’d wanged a screwdriver into the wrong person’s head), and TECHNICALLY she didn’t take down Mike via his preferred takedown method (the contract said “make the explosion look like an accident,” while Jane just blew him up with an explosive rubber duck – however, as the duck IS Mike’s explosive of choice, Mike said he’d allow it), but she did complete the contract! With no score thanks to being caught multiple times and seen on security cameras, but still. XD Also, in the brief time Mike had the contract up before the stream, three people managed to beat his score – but then again, his score was one star, because Mike, soooo. . . A very fitting send-off for the Hitman 2 era – and I’m super looking forward to them playing Hitman 3 and Hitman VR. XD

C) Quick off-the-list from the “fallout 4” tag on tumblr – a teaser trailer for a new machinma webseries, “Fallout Sanctuary!” It’s made in the game’s engine and covers the female Sole Survivor, Nora, and her companions post the destruction of the Institute – except, how destroyed was it. . . I am intrigued and may have to seek this out this summer when it releases.

D) Then this evening it was over to Call Me Kevin, with more of The Forest! This is that survival game he played a while back, where you’re the survivor of a plane crash, and you have to use all your wits to live off the land while battling the cannibals that took your son. Kevin actually made some decent progress today, despite a series of bad decisions – he’s made himself a houseboat on a lake, a bow and arrows, and a bed! And all it took was some bird feathers, some rabbit hide, some rock slime, one temporary shelter crushed under a felled tree, a dozen murdered cannibals, and a decent portion of his sanity. XD He also went exploring in the caves again – ended with him strung up for the dinner table briefly, but he managed to escape, come back, and find the nice ax he was looking for. :D I’m all for him playing more – I like this kind of survival stuff! And it’s a little less stressful than Rust and all its griefers.

E) And finally, we moved onto GrayStillPlays and the two videos we needed to catch up on with him:

1. More GTA V stunt races – another horrible super-long board of doom for Gray to conquer! This one not only with wall rides, but also OBSTACLES in the wall rides. Including massive SPIKES. And huge roller-coaster style DROPS. It took Gray the better part of two hours to make it through all of Satan’s various checkpoints, and I think he was genuinely about to lose it by the end. Oh Gray. . .it’s kind of sad that you’ve found your niche, and it is masochism. But kinda funny too.

2. Speaking of masochism, we also had more Fun With Ragdolls: The Game “make Gray rage” courses! The warm-up was a drop down a pit full of mallets, and it only got harder from there. Poor Gray was begging people to stop making him boards where he had to use his brain. XD As usual, he completed all the laser dodges, rocket dodges, hammer dodges, etc – he just didn’t enjoy doing so. XD One of these days, he’s genuinely going to launch his computer out the window to get away from these challenges, I think. (Or possibly because of a sponsorship. It’s Gray.)

F) Okay, not finally, as someone on tumblr shared with me a quick video of someone making Alice in Sims 4 -- they did a pretty good job, even if I think the hair they picked was waaaay too long. Face looked about right, though, so yay there!

3. Play Untitled Goose Game and get to work on some of the bonus objectives: Check! I got a few of them done – locking the gardener out of the garden (took some work to steal those keys); make someone outside the high street buy back their own stuff (stole the gardener’s trowel, then later went back and lured him into the high street with a stolen apple so he’d find it in the lady’s shop); trip the boy in the puddle (easy) and lock him in the garage (very easy; I’ve gotten locking the shop lady in the garage down to an art, so getting him was just a matter of stealing his airplane and staying ahead of him); open an umbrella inside the TV shop (took some work, especially since I had to trap the boy inside the phone booth a couple of times to get the shop open, but eventually I managed it); get thrown over the fence in the back gardens (involved sneaking over to the pub first to steal an empty cardboard box); and perform at the pub in a ribbon (took two tries – turns out one of the ways to sneak out of the messy lady’s back garden will take the ribbon off you if she’s put it on). I also made a start at getting all the flowers in the basket by the well and dressing up the bust with things not found in the gardens, but didn’t complete those. Felt good to do something maliciously wholesome in my gaming. XD

4. Get in a workout: Check! Another bike ride, another round (eventually – YouTube was being a little bitch in loading it) of Jon’s Fallout 4 Survival Playthrough! I picked up with him in the Malden Memorial Hospital, where he finished clearing out the Super Mutants (lucking out in mutual obliviousness between him and a Mutant he walked right past at one point), secured the DIA cache, and found his way into the operating theater – which proved to be necessary, as the “leader” Super Mutant he had to kill for the Slog was in there. Also found a Syringer Rifle, but declined to pick it up – it is fairly limited use, and there are easier ways to get one.

With the hospital cleared and those quests ready to be turned in, Jon turned Grills toward Malden Middle School, as he’d heard from commenters that he needed to get into its basement. And indeed he did, as in the basement was a vault he’d never been to before, Vault 75! It’s got its own quest and everything! Jon cleared out the Gunners that had taken over the vault and started exploring. The admittance computer explained it was a vault set up so that families with children in the school could get subsidized entry, which Jon felt was waaaay too nice for Vault-Tec. And indeed, the admittance protocols indicated that all children under seventeen would be taken to see the Overseer. . .while their parents and guardians were taken to security. . . Add onto that a classroom full of mentats, various gyms hooked up to medical equipment, a nice bit of propaganda regarding the students being trained to make “Uptopland” safe for the people living up there, a playground right next to the reactors, and a live-fire shooting range for the kids to work their way through. . .yeah, something is rotten in the state of Massachusetts. I left Jon having just found the keycard that would allow him access to the labs and the Overseer’s office. I think I already know the deal of this vault, but I’m eager to see him learn the whole truth.

5. Get the pictures for my next Newcrest Adventures update on Wednesday sorted: Check! Did that before lunch – three posts worth of pictures, set up and drafted on my Victor Luvs Alice tumblr, yay. :) Still need to finish plugging in the text, but at least I'm ahead of the game for once!

Yeah, that pretty much covers my day, really, beyond me answering a FF.net PM from my friend on there (yay getting that done before a whole week has passed). It's overall been a nice day off! And now I just have to answer my final comment before going to bed, as I DO have work tomorrow. *winces* Hopefully it won't be too much of a shitshow. . .we'll see, I suppose. Just trying to live my damn life here. . . Night all!
