Everything Day In BTTF
AKA the Saturday over which the majority of the time travel actually happens -- Marty goes to 1955 early in the morning, then Doc travels to 2015, then Doc comes back and grabs Marty and Jennifer to go to 2015 midmorning, then he and Marty take the unconscious Jennifer and Einstein back with them to 1985-A that night. Lots happening in one 24-hour-period! But that's the magic of time travel for you. :)
Anyway -- storm is not as bad as prophecised, at least not yet. Wind's picking up some now, and it's been pretty damn rainy and gloomy all day, but it hasn't been the "people are guaranteed to lose power aaaah" mess they've been telling us it will be. *shrug* Whatever happens overnight happens -- I just hope the traffic in the morning isn't too terrible. Or that I don't have to brave it at all because it gets just bad enough to cancel work. :P
As for the to-do list:
Work – Meh – mostly quiet, but I have found more credit-card-related fuckery, and that annoys me. Plus the drive home was irritating as fuck thanks to heavy traffic. I mean, it could have been worse, what with the storm that’s supposed to be lashing us right now, but still. Ugh.
Beanbags – We’re technically in the middle of a nor’easter, what do you think? XD POSSIBLY Thursday, aka The One Sunny Day, but I don’t hold out much hope.
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – another day on the bike, and the final day with L.A. By Night, “Instruments of Darkness!” Everyone had a very bad end to their night, basically – Jasper just barely staggered his way back to his secret sewer home without frenzying, where he found someone to feed upon; Annabelle got badly lost in the sewers trying to chase him and ended up having a paranoid freakout of her own (thanks to a bestial failure trying to persuade Jasper not to leave her behind), clawing at the walls of the sewers and running around aimlessly before finally getting control of herself, finding a ladder, and emerging into somewhere in Burbank, where she started the long trudge back to Griffith College; Victor managed to lose his pursuers by making it to the roof of the club and – with a quick check for witnesses – using a Soaring Leap to bound onto the parking garage, where he contacted his ghoul (who is, thanks to a TV Tropes trawl, apparently named Ib – the way Jason Carl says it, though, it really does sound like “Eve”) and had her get him out of there fast, feeling like staying would be a danger to the others; and Nelli attempted to lose Chaz in the crowd at the club after getting him to agree to try and get to Victor and help him, but Chaz managed to track her down before she could get much farther than the doors, and a few more pointed words were exchanged, with Nelli mulling over her complicated feelings for her sire on her own eventual lonely ride home. Basically the only good thing that happened was that – well, Chaz was willing to help Victor (purely because he’s a potential asset), and used his bodyguard, Chauncey, to beat up the two goons who were chasing him. It’s a very gloomy end for everybody, and I suspect episode 3 is not going to start well either.
2. Write some more on "Learn To Love Again": Check! Alice and Victor just spent some time gaping at each other, with Victor explaining he just imagined the rabbit hole because he was feeling lonely in his hotel room and figured it might help him sleep, and he’s as confused as anyone as to how he actually ended up in Wonderland. Cheshire, fortunately, appeared with a suggestion – that it might be related to Victor’s visit to the Land of the Dead. Victor’s willing to entertain the idea, but is still baffled by the how, honestly – and who can blame him? Don’t worry, Victor – once this chapter ends, you’re gonna get a chance to ask a real expert. . .
3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check – actually, a rather short day, as once again I had only two videos in the subs, and most of what I watched was very short. *shrug* It’s okay, gave me a bit of time to do other stuff.
A) Still no James (busy moving, I’m sure), so instead I turned to Plumbella for a Sims 4 fix – and she had a short video regarding the Livestream that happened today and the updates that were mentioned within it. Specifically, the future addition of Scenarios, which are challenges pre-built into the game that you can choose to play through for a boatload of aspiration points. First two are going to be basically a standard “rags to riches” scenario, and a “find love after a breakup” scenario. I think these’ll be nice for people who want to “quickstart” a challenge (kind of like how “Create A Story” for CAS is good for people who want to do a more complex randomization for a Sim), but I don’t know if I’ll ever use them. I’ve got challenges of my own to play. Also, in the name of “representation,” they’re moving a hair from Toddler Stuff to base game, so we’ll see how THAT blows up in their face. *sigh* Look, all I want at this point is a proper bug-fixing patch, so. . .
B) Then it was over to Call Me Kevin for some Hitman 3 fun – completing a contract without killing anyone! How is this possible, you ask? By picking the contract “Death in the Family,” knocking out the detective to get his suit, then pretending to solve the murder mystery by framing Mr. Fernsby for Zach’s death, getting the case file as your reward – and then making sure the poison distiller in the greenhouse is working again so the real murderer, Emma, can make her poison and kill Alexa for you. All while stealing everything that isn’t nailed down, overflowing all the sinks, filling in the grave that Alexa had dug for herself (obviously back when this was going to be a FAKE funeral), and fixing the camera for the group photo and using it to take a picture of the maid (the only thing they actually objected to). Oh, and stealing the hearse at the end for his exit. XD It was delightfully silly – I’d like to see Kevin try more of these “pacifist” contracts! I know from OXBox lists there’s a few contracts where you can get someone else to kill your targets for you. . .
C) Then it was over to GrayStillPlays and Voodoo Doll, a game about – well, guess. XD Specifically, it’s about a girl in a sailor fuku manipulating everyone around her via her vast array of voodoo dolls. Sometimes she’s nice and helps people avoid potted plants, or saves dogs stuck in traffic – but MOST of the time she’s making people who cut in front of her for the bus get their arm ripped off in the door, or making her cheating boyfriend punch himself repeatedly, or forcing someone who got the last hot dog before her choke on it, or getting the entire hot dog stand abducted by aliens by refusing to serve her when she had no money. . .the list goes on. Seriously, the punishments you can inflict on people are numerous and strange – you can even get criminals to shoot their own heads off. It’s a really dark game wrapped up in a bunch of cutesy graphics – aka, perfect Gray fodder!
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – Victor Luvs Alice is in fact completely set for the week! Mostly because I had a one-post Sims update (Chill Save does Spookfest), so I could just queue up everything else without worrying about queue speed or anything like that. And I had everything ready for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, soooo. . . And over on Valice Multiverse, quiet night actual thread-wise, so I just threw up some fandom stuff from the current big four (AMA, CB, FO4, VTMB). It’ll keep us all satisfied for now!
Not bad, not bad. . .just gotta answer my comment now, then it's off to bed. Night all! Keep your fingers crossed it doesn't get too bad!
