Final BTTF Day Of The Month
Oct. 27th, 2021 10:04 pmAt least I got 10:04 for the entire 1985 weekend! Makes me feel a little closer to my Backie roots. :p Hopefully next year I can do better on 10/21 -- for now, as it's actually getting late when I write this, let's get through the to-do list:
Work – Ugh – more credit card company problems. What’s new? At least apart from that it was pretty quiet – and my ride and back was not actually that bad. Mostly because a lot of schools closed (power outages/just caution), meaning traffic was a lot lighter than it usually is. *shrug* I’ll take what I can get.
Beanbags – Beanbags would have gone flying today – again, the best chance is tomorrow, and that might be dependent on temperature. Got chilly today, and I don’t know how much better it’s supposed to be tomorrow.
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – another thirty on the bike to start episode 3 of L.A. By Night, “Fear No Monsters!” Alex Ward as Jasper was not available for this episode, so his friend X the Malkavian has taken his place for the night – much to Victor and Nelli’s horror, as X is one of those “fun” Malkavians. And somehow managed to shit on Nelli’s catwalk while demonstrating “Bohemian style” for her during a show? I – don’t know how he managed that as a vampire. . . Anyway, he did have an interesting little take on why the clans are the way they are and how they see the world via a variation on the story of the blind men feeling the elephant to figure out what it looks like (substituting in vampire bats trying to feed on it – like the Brujah breaking its fangs on the foot and deciding to be hard and mighty, to take one of the less-gross examples), but mostly I can see why people think he’s an annoying guest party member. *sigh* Currently the gang is attending a party at Victor’s club to celebrate a new album drop, with Victor deciding who gets in and who doesn’t based on everyone’s feeding preferences. Considering what their luck is like, I predict things going badly wrong very soon.
2. Edit some more on "Londerland Bloodlines": Check! Alice unfortunately was unable to crack the computer in the blood bank office – Cheshire gave her a password hint, but she interpreted it wrong and got herself locked out. So instead she did more exploring and found her way to the freezers (which she left alone for now despite the lovely smell), and the laundry room – which had a keyhole where a certain hole in the wall has been shittily covered up by some plywood. XD So she’s found her way to the morgue, which isn’t even locked! Time to investigate Crumb's corpse and advance another step in Knox’s quest! She’s gotta fight that Cathayan at some point, after all. . .
3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check – two in, two out, plus a bonus –
A) James Turner remains on the move, so I decided to hit up Lore By Night for their episode on Malkavian Lore! Some interesting stuff there, including what the hell happened to Malkav (possibly blessed by Caine, only for his mind to be unable to take said blessing; possibly cursed by Caine for asking too many personal questions), what the Malkavian “life cycle” is like, and the traditions Malkavians themselves hold (like poking and prodding and breaking the other Traditions to see how they hold up, recognizing the madness inherent in their blood, and even making an effort to get along with the other supernatural beasts in the World of Darkness). Makes me realize that Alice is a bit weird even for a Malkavian – though maybe that’s because I picture most of the usual Malkavian stuff being filtered through Wonderland. Hmmm.
B) Then it was back over to the Subs to watch Call Me Kevin and – the TWO-Chunk challenge in Minecraft! Yes, with the acquisition of his bed, Kevin has allowed himself to expand out to another chunk! This one has lots of neat stuff too – a pool of water, a cave full of amethyst, the occasional lapis block, a cave system that Kevin can’t actually explore because it’s just out of reach, lava Kevin can’t get because it’s just out of reach, and lots and lots of monsters! So many skeletons he actually died in the first couple of minutes. XD Fortunately he has expanded his boat defense system to counter this monster problem – it’s kind of hilarious that getting certain hostile mobs to sit in boats to make them relatively harmless works as well as it does. XD He also built a new pen to keep his llamas in – unfortunately, one died or despawned before he could actually get it downstairs, and the other despawned while he was exploring his new underground area. But he was able to replace them with a baby zombie riding a chicken! Surely that’s better than some old llama, right? XD Though the comments are saying he needs to name the chicken lest it despawn. I’m sure you know what name I suggested. XD
C) Speaking of which, time for some more GrayStillPlays, and another GTA V ridiculous “story” board! Today Gray was helping Jason in judging some souls for a vacationing Satan (who was in Florida, where else) – using one gun to knock unworthy souls off the scales of judgment, and another to yeet them back to the earthly realm. Gray being Gray, he of course prioritized sending back bitching Karens, women who love mashed potatoes, the inventor of the beer hat, and good doggies over doctors curing cancer, firefighters trying to save people from fires, and anyone with a lick of common sense. Though he DID save the person who keeps making all the parkour boards, just to ensure everyone else has to suffer like he’s suffered. XD After 15 rounds, plus three “bonus” rounds because his choices were so abysmal (with the addition of fire to burn people!), he was transported back to earth where he was informed he’d been fired because his antics caused people to die of wrist cancer, fire, and random murders, meaning there were no souls left to put in Hell. *nods* Seems like an appropriately Gray ending!
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: N/A today, since I’m actually all set for the rest of the week. And good thing too, as I started YouTube and whatnot a little later today, so I’m running a bit behind again. *grumbles* Was doing so well too. . .
Well, at least I'm staying well on top of things. Now it's time to wrap up and hit the sheets, as per usual. Hopefully tomorrow will be a little better, work-wise anyway. . . Night all!
