Busy Busy Tuesday

Yeah, had a lot going on this Tuesday, so let's get right to it --

Work – A quieter day coworker-chatting-wise (less bullshit to have to listen to behind me, yay), but a busier day work-wise – I had to help the credit card people track down some suspicious transactions and go through the exceptions returned from our processors as well as taking (and making, thanks to the exceptions) some credit card calls, and behind me my coworkers had to deal with a belligerent parish secretary. Made the day go by at least, but I hope tomorrow is a little bit calmer!

To-Do List

1. Get in a workout: Check – another night on the bike, another night with the Renrut Tiny Town as I pedaled my way through –

A) The end of “A third Sim has completed the Tiny Town Challenge! - Part 16,” with James wrapping things up with Scarlett – and her episode ended pretty much as chaotically as it began, with:

I. James finishing off the landscaping with a nice path around her tree, a special little cupola thing for her money tree when it grew, some flowers behind Patchy, and a bench – it all looked really nice, I have to say :)

II. Scarlett FINALLY having a nice date with Nikki, her final Cupid’s Corner favorite and StrangerVille scientist (James kinda recognized her from Kyrstoff’s adventures to get himself and Pablo cured), with James seeing good things for them in the future...only for Scarlett to completely autonomously start flirting with PATCHY. AKA the scarecrow NPC she befriended on his tree. And he started flirting BACK. James was like “okay, this is fantastic, I have to go with this” and ended up letting them get into a relationship, with Patchy even asking for Scarlett to be his official partner. Unfortunately, the minute they woohooed, he disappeared back onto his tree, making James think he just used Scarlett for the woo – not helped by Scarlett feeling really needy while Patchy was gone because romantic satisfaction decays a bit TOO quickly in this game. The roughness continued with them attending couples’ counseling and Scarlett inviting Patchy for a three-day stayover so he’d stop disappearing right after woohoo (and causing a weird double-Patchy situation for a bit), but in the end, James decided he couldn’t break them up and decided to just live with the weirdness. After all, it was INCREDIBLY funny. XD Just too bad he couldn’t get them married for a TRULY bizarre finale!

III. James discovering right before the end of the episode that one bathroom in Vivienne’s house was not actually marked as part of her house – and that Camillo, Sonny, Reuben, Pablo, Clement Frost, Patchy, the maid, and Nalani had all somehow gotten themselves trapped in there. XD Fortunately it was easily fixed by putting an archway on the wall behind the toilet so they could all escape and then going and marking the room as officially Vivienne’s, but MAN. Scarlett just ATTRACTS chaos.

IV. Scarlett getting eaten by her own cowplant near the end of the episode (she was hungry because Patchy’s suitcase was blocking her fridge and so she went for the cake tongue) and thus ending up, ironically, terrified of plants, meaning she couldn’t harvest anything – fortunately this was AFTER she’d already grown her money tree and gotten one successful harvest from it, so that was all right

V. And finally, Scarlett doing one final Finchwick Fair sale of all of the produce already in her inventory (and even successfully haggling the profit margin up to +25%), before returning home and donating her million-dollar lottery win to the town vault. Probably for the best, Scarlett – given how all the oddness started up right after you won it, I think it’s slightly cursed. XD

B) The very beginning of “Cooking with Reuben in Tiny Town Challenge! - Part 17!” As in, the first four minutes because that’s how long I had before my workout ended. XD But yes, we’re now FINALLY back with Reuben for his second episode, and already James has had to have him fix his waffle maker, which was kinda perma-broken from being left out in the elements; buy him a NEW waffle maker and food stand because the various nonsense glitches he dealt with in the OTHER episodes meant Reuben no longer owned them; and deal with Reuben having both a fear of the dark and a fear of swimming. So we’re off to a great start. XD Looking forward to seeing what happens when we get into the meat of the episode tomorrow! Uh, no pun intended. :p

2. Continue working on “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland”: Check – Alice made it into the lobby of the Brotherhood’s headquarters today! And, very importantly, met an extremely anxious teenage girl named Jennifer there, who haltingly gave her a hint as to what she’ll be facing upstairs before starting to cry as she admitted she just wanted to go home. And Alice, who has already had to watch two people die right in front of her during the course of this quest, decided right then and there that Jennifer is living, damn it. So she convinced the kid to hole up in the broken elevator near the stairs with a heavy plank of wood as protection, and is currently preparing to go kick as much ass as it takes to make sure they both get out in one uninfected piece. *nods* Tomorrow, though, she learns exactly what she’ll be facing in this quest, and it ain’t pretty...

3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – there was no GrayStillPlays today, but I still had plenty to watch –

A) First up, from the Subs, we had Josh Way and “Fun With Shorts: Fire Cheese [PATREON EXCLUSIVE]!” Yes, in keeping with yesterday’s promise, he released one of his former Patreon Exclusive shorts today – a terrible cartoon featuring a short idiot named Gabby who gets in the way of the local fire department trying to do their jobs and ends up utterly bungling everything so badly the house completely burns down. For some reason this is considered amusing. XD Josh’s riffs were definitely on point, though, with such winners as “Mitch McConnell puts out a fire!” over a scene of Gabby running into the burning house to water a plant, and him repeatedly saying that he was “team fire” because the sentient flames were more interesting and personable than our protagonist. XD Good stuff – I’m looking forward to seeing what was previously behind the paywall all these years!

B) And second up, from the Watch Later, I couldn’t resist going on to “CaFae Latte Season 21 - TikTok Compile” by C. M. Alongi! :D Featuring Bob heading to her friend the Wolver’s restaurant for dinner during the run-up to the move and getting involved in stopping some asshole from assaulting the woman he just took out on a date (with the Wolver’s and his server Lucy’s help); Jennifer Charles being very nervous about their new job as kitchen manager, and then telling Bob “no, do NOT warp reality to allow me to start attending college again” (and then it turned out in the NEXT bit that Nicole had used good luck charms to find them a scholarship anyway – they turned down her offer to make them one, saying they’d apply but they wanted to get in on their own merits); an anti-queer jerk showing up shortly before the cafe closed at the same time as Janine, transgender vampire – and proving to be a dude they didn’t have to curse because the initial assholery actually chilled out once he started listening to what she had to say (her revealing herself to be a veteran seemed to have helped); and Bob, Cyrus, and JC getting together with the new employees Rethi, Drek, and Husniya to start deep cleaning and renovating their new location, involving a lot of getting to know each other and a few mentions of robberies on the block – and then JC forgot their water bottle, and when Bob went to let them back in to retrieve it, they both heard breaking glass… Looking forward to seeing THAT plot thread get followed up on in the next video!

4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – still nothing happening on Valice Multiverse, and I had no ideas for what I could chuck in the queue, but I did get my Victor Luvs Alice (N Smiler) queue all sorted for the rest of the week, with:

A) My “Valicer In The Dark Pets” post going up on Wednesday

B) That Oxventure Presents: Blades In The Dark gifset of the moment Mike revealed he wanted to give Amadeus Astor lead poisoning via flashblack I reblogged for Thursday

C) That “ghost bug zapper” story from MarlynnOfMany I reblogged with a couple of comments regarding the story being awesome and my desire to do something like it for my Valicer In The Dark verse for Friday

D) And a reblog of the Leverage OT3 music video for the song “Parachute” (which I do associate very strongly with my VITD trio) for Saturday!

Yes, a very strongly VITD-themed week – but I don’t care, as, as previously stated, I love this universe a LOT, sooo...everyone will have to deal. :p

Other: Raptorinator, aka Satirical Demon, left a comment on “A Murder Shared Is A Murder Thirded.” :D I immediately feel better about life.

Whew -- that was a lot, huh? But I'm pretty satisfied with it. :) And now I should see about getting to bed now that I've wrapped up everything I need to do. Hopefully Wednesday is halfway decent -- night all!
