FanFicy Sunday

Though I should open with an announcement -- I have the day off tomorrow! We're expecting snow (4 to 10 inches -- yeah, I know, quite a range), and a lot of places in RI closed preemptively, including my work. I was smart this time and stalked the list of closings available from ribroadcasters.com once Dad warned me I might be getting out early. Did NOT want a repeat of Friday morning. But now I know, and all is well~

Anyway, had a pretty good Sunday -- caught up with the rest of my Helloween (Fatal Frame, which actually managed to be creepy for a bit -- and hilariously awful in other bits; and The Last Door, which had some good atmosphere, but went splat against the floor with a cheap-ass ending), maxed my roses again in DragonVale (no luck with the Serenity so far, but I did get a Moonstruck pedestal, so that's nice), and fumbled about on TV Tropes for a while. There was also a delicious Super Bowl spread for the start of the game -- three different kinds of mini pizza (barbecue chicken, sausage and black olive, and kielbasa and sweet potato), deviled eggs, and celery with cream cheese and green olives. Tasty stuff, and we have plenty of leftovers, so lunch is all set for tomorrow.

So why do I call this Sunday fanficy? Well:

-->I of course worked on "Remembering You" -- did the scene where Victor takes out his frustrations on a pillow at Alice's suggestion, and ends up popping it. I struggled a bit with the beginning (was trying to figure out just how much Victor would know about why the hell he was at Houndsditch in the first place), but I think it's working all right now. Soon to plunge into uncharted waters though -- the reappearance of the Van Dorts is where I stalled out last time. Hoping the same doesn't happen again. . .

-->I also put up more prompt fic on my website: Have a column of prompts from my second Winter Bingo card. Includes some fairly angsty pieces and some fairly sugary/funny ones. So something for everybody then.

-->Speaking of Secundus, [personal profile] gigs_83 just posted a revised version of AL's introduction into the Secundus Verse: Expect the Unexpected Features a new assistant for AL and a smattering of other changes. You did good, Lisa!

-->And a surprise entry: The third part of NebbyChan's CinderVictor! I'm the one who suggested the spiders and ravens as Burtonesque alternates to the mice and bluebirds that help animated Cinderella. XD Also features Nell busting her nose and ending up in a pig costume. XD And Victor getting cruelly mistreated by his stepfamily, but things should get better come next chapter. . .

So yeah, fanfic everywhere. Enjoy, folks! I've got RP tags to catch up on. Night!

Never mind it took four years to get a title. :p And reading it over I noticed a couple of typos I didn't catch...like Doc and Marty were in the attack rather than "attic" and AL wound up in the woods near hear rather than "here". And note to self: Adam went through the only door in the back. This house has an attic, not a basement. ^^' (I kind of want to make the house on Sims 2 now, hee~)

Unfortunately I can't fix those 'til the weekend since I need to get back onto FrontPage to do it without screwing up the formatting. And yes I'm writing them here so I remember, haha.

Y'know, in re-reading Secundus I noticed that Lewis gets his idea for Susie on Valentine's Day of all days (February 14, 18--).

I'm figuring the house is pretty small. Like one bedroom, one "water closet" because she knows what indoor plumbing is, kitchen with eating space and living room. I don't expect she makes a lot of money (she HAS money...dad set up a system for her when she was young, but she likes to be honest and would only use it in emergencies) being so far out in the boonies and whatever cash she does get I'm sure she puts towards the clinic and the animals. To me a house with both attic space and a basement sounds expensive.

Next weekend is a three-day weekend so maybe I can find some time to Sims between Valentine's Day and having to go out to eat with Ed's newlywed brother and his wife.

Note to self: Diego's stripe is "crooked", not crooker. :/

*comes back in time* Okay, fixed my typos and redid the description of the house to fit the Sims version, heh.

The clinic is next. I spent hours making that, demolishing it and remaking it. Still not done, so that's something for next weekend.

I'm a poor judge of what size lot I'll need. I don't want it too big because of the way the computer acts when there's too much stuff on screen but I also don't want it too small otherwise it won't look the way I want it.

Sometimes I don't realize I want to try a larger lot 'til I have most if it built, then I have to start over again. :/ At least it's almost the weekend.
