You Know, I Think Up Stuff I Want To Talk About

But when I actually go to update this thing -- it's all gone. Which is probably good, because usually it's complaints. Do you people really want to listen to me bitch?
-VD2: Well, this is LiveJournal. Isn't that technically what you're supposed to do?-
Ha ha. Anyway, life is going on pretty much as usual. Only big plans for the weekend so far are a) cleaning my room and b) throwing [livejournal.com profile] museicalmarty at the Nexus, because he needs something to do. There may also be journalmaking, but I can't promise that.
-D: Well, you really ought to give Lucy, Simon, and Dee their journals.-
I know. And there were a few other ideas I was toying with. . . .
Anyway, since I feel like I really have nothing else to say at the moment, I'm gonna post a short Victor/Alice fic. Because I can. I'm trying to get the ones that don't require a lot of me explaining "The Solicitor's Ward" out of the way first as well. Luckily this one is pretty short and sweet and fits into pretty much any Alice/Victor situation:

23. Candy – Sweet Tooth
Unlike most girls her age, Alice didn’t have much of a sweet tooth. Candy didn’t hold much interest for her. She honestly preferred saltier foods. Pretzels, crackers, chips – those were her favorite indulgences.
That wasn’t to say she didn’t like sweets at all. She enjoyed the occasional dish of sherbert or ice cream after dinner. And if someone offered her a piece of chocolate, more often than not she’d eat it. She just never understood why other people felt the need to gorge on such things.
Then, one night, sitting at home with Victor, she impulsively kissed him while he was in the middle of a bowl of ice cream. And, in tasting the chocolate still on his lips, sweet with a slight salty tang from his mouth. . .she understood a little better.

This is mostly inspired by one line from the game -- after Alice reads the recipe for the "Drink Me" potion, she comments, "Hmm -- I don't really like sweets." With Victor an ice cream fanatic thanks to Babel, I knew I had to do something involving that for the "candy" prompt. And thus, this story was born.
-VD: An addendum to this story is this is what got Vic here to try chocolate-covered pretzels, just to see how the two tastes would mix.-
They actually weren't that bad -- they just had a strange aftertaste.

And now, I'm off to kill my brain with more Nostalgia Critic --
OH! That's one of the things I wanted to mention!
-RPD: What? He insult something you love?-
Nope, this has to do with the Angry Video Game Nerd feud. There's a couple of videos on his site that are basically behind-the-scenes footage of how they did the whole silly thing. At one point in the videos, Doug is suiting up as the Nostalgia Critic, only to discover he can't actually tie his tie. And none of the other four guys know how either. James, the AVGN, gives it a go, but can't figure it out. Eventually, we see him with his tie finally tied, and he admits that they had to go to James's wife --
Yeah, that's where my brain locked up too. There's a MRS. Angry Video Game Nerd! Or, technically, a Mrs. Rolfe, but Mrs. Angry Video Game Nerd sounds funnier. I always thought he was a single guy! Learn something new everyday. (Kinda hoping she appears in a video one day, because now I'm curious.)
Okay, now more funny videos.
