crossover_chickSince I don't think I ever did give my thoughts on the latest two episodes:
Pinkie Apple Pie: This is one of the ones I quite liked -- I was laughing throughout. Not really at Pinkie though -- more at Applejack's attempts to present the "perfect" family to her. I kept telling the screen, "Pinkie is NOT going to care!" And she didn't! Who's a silly pony~ Applejack! The song was good, the situations amusing -- all and all, a good episode. Even if Pinkie should have technically been considered family before this -- I mean, Applejack basically called ALL of her friends family during the "Super-Speedy Cider Squeezy" episode. There seems to be a weirdly elitist side to being an Apple, it appears. *shrug*
Rainbow Falls: Mixed bag here. I'm getting a little sick of the strong focus on Rainbow Dash -- seriously, who the hell at Hasbro loves her so much? -- and I felt Fleetfoot and Spitfire were WAY too easily forgiven for how they treated Soarin'. In fact, I think I would have really liked for Dash's Wonderbolt pedestal to be permanently broken, seeing that at least two of her idols are willing to throw a friend under the bus just to win. I think it would have made for some interesting character development.
On the other hand, the return (and naming) of Bulk Biceps was funny, as was Applejack's obsession with those brown betties. I think Rarity's fashion sense kind of took a hike in this episode, though -- those costumes were kind of yeeks. The rest of the episode was all right--
But I'm willing to forgive it everything, because DERPY! :D Oh, it was good to see her back -- and in a major role too! Well, relatively, considering she's not voiced. Damn it, I kind of wanted to see her fly! Ah well, perhaps there will be other opportunities. *huggles everyone's favorite ensemble darkpony*
Snowy day today, and quiet -- I stayed in, worked on Chapter 25, and did DragonVale. Leveled up my Fog Misty and sent her Questing -- which ended up being a 24-hour thing, so I won't know the results until tomorrow morning. *grumble* Mainly what I've been doing today is collecting money, breeding -- I've got my Sonic incubating, I sold another Poison, and it appears Doc and Flitvine are making an Ash -- and racing. The latter is proving most profitable, as I get regular cash payouts, occasional bursts of food and experience, and the occasional shard for the Perch of Kairos (most of which are duplicates which I trade for cash, but I have gotten one new one). Biff (Tree) is my best racer, followed by Quartz (Crystal) and Fafnir (Thunder). I'm looking forward to getting to Level 18 so I can have Metal dragons and do some of the races I don't currently have the right dragons for. Plans for overnight -- breed Tidepool and Flitvine for either a Seaweed or Swamp -- I need someone else to live in Misty's pool with her. I also need someone to keep Everest company -- maybe a Mud? Whatever -- I just have to breed like crazy. At least my fourth island is on the way -- once I have that, I can concentrate more on getting new habitats with my cash.
Right now, though, I ought to give a little more attention to tumblr tags and such -- later, all!
