Crossover Chick

I've actually had one of those days where a lot of little annoyances piled up, so it's fitting that the last of the 30 Dances is on the angsty side. I've been avoiding posting this one as it's a rather major spoiler for "The Tale" (one I'm almost positive I've managed not to blurt out here before), but -- well, I spoiled "Secundus" with a Drabbles88 fic. So here goes:

. . .Point. Anyway, been a bit of a quiet and gloomy day. I started my first playthrough on Hard in honor of the occasion. I am already regretting it.
-D: Oh? Why?-
BOOJUMS. Those bastards are suddenly a LOT harder to kill without the ice wand. I can't tell you how many times I died in the Fortress of Doors trying to fend them off. Bastards. . . .
-VD: You'll adapt.-
Not fast enough for my liking, I'm sure. At least I'm at the Skool, and on the verge of getting the croquet mallet. Ahhh, sweet sweet flamingo-head. . . .

BurningDogFace is taking on the game. He hasn't played it in seven years, and it shows. I keep yelling at the screen, telling him what to do. Yeah, I'm crazy.

I'm not sure if I'm as bad as I thought I was or no -- it seems I do it less than I first thought, but I hammer him when I do it. Poor "Solicitor's Ward" Victor gets it the worst -- let's see:

The darn things are plaguing us lately. Mom and I had to run home from our walk today because one rolled in early (luckily it rolled out pretty quickly as well). So far, there's none on the scene, but it's said that we're gonna get more tonight, and that there will be scattered ones tomorrow. I'm really just tired of nasty weather.
-D: It's not all bad -- most of the summer's been nice. A lot better than last year.-
Oh yeah, last year we had a thunderstorm every fifteen seconds. At least things are nicer this year.
Anyway, quiet sort of Saturday -- watched "Up" with director's commentary since I hadn't seen it in a while. Ahh, such a nice movie. . . . Also got some more written on "The Tale." Now that I've broken my slump with "There's Always Tomorrow," I seem to be getting back into a writing groove. Maybe I can actually complete some of these unfinished projects.

LOL, I have kept everybody waiting, haven't I? Trust me, I'm gonna do my best to write something on each of these things regularly.

Oh, and while I'm thinking of Alice things again -- I think I've realized one of the things in specific I don't like about the sequel look of Alice.
Her hair color's wrong.
In this teaser trailer and the screenshots, it looks to be black. But in the original Alice, she was a redhead! Very dark red in-game, lighter red/brownish color in trailers and official art. Consistency, American McGee! I understand it's a whole new art style, but you could at least keep her hair the same!

It's been kind of a crappy one -- work was really crazy today. Though I did get myself a chocolate M&M Friend-Z, so that was nice. Still, I'm in a bit of a mood, so let's have angsty Victor/Alice fic:

It's about time I posted the sequel to one of my 30 Dances, isn't it? Well then, prepare yourself for a bit more Victor Horrible. First, a refresher course -- Victor Horrible (the Corpse Bride/Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog/American McGee's Alice crossover) first appeared in Everything You'd Ever. And also to Shaenon Garrity, creator of Narbonic and co-creator of Skin Horse! She's one of my favorite webcartoonists, after the Foglios. Mostly because she does a lot of Mad Science stuff herself. *still wishing Narbonic and Girl Genius had done a proper crossover*

Anyway, spent most of the day doing Alice's Inkwell Post. I also posted the results of Alice Dolly's celebration on Victor Plush's Twitter. Yes, see the fruits of my labor -- a weird-looking lily. At least Alice Dolly likes it.

And of course, I can't let the occasion pass without Victor/Alice fic, right? And I know just the one to post:

The Doll Situation
As copied from my response to one of martyfan's comments:
"Actually, you know what happened after I packed up shop for the night and went to get ready for bed? As I was putting Alice in her usual spot, the pin holding her knife to her hand suddenly fell out. I started to replace it, then decided perhaps it was a message saying "If you don't want Victor Plush being creepy, maybe you should let his friend here into the bed proper." So she joined the group, and the furthest he wiggled out of position was ending up sideways behind her."

So -- yeah. Make of that what you will.
-VDM: Do you think DGVictor and Alice would be pleased, confused, or frightened to learn that their relationship can apparently be transferred to dolls?-
I think we can make a strong case for DGVictor freaking out, at least.

Tomorrow's Plans
It's mall trip time again, and it's another movie trip. After hearing good things about it, and enjoying the trailers, I'm off to go see "How To Train Your Dragon." This necessitates getting up at 7 to make sure I get to the mall in plenty of time, but sacrifices must be made. Plus, I'm hoping to pick up some stuff while I'm down there.

I'm thinking of making it a multi-chapter where she visits each boss from the game. Hatter's section is the most fleshed-out in my head, of course. . . .
