11:16pm: Indeed! The great man is 100 years old today! :OD Let's hear it for the man with the dulcet tones and conservationist extraordanaire.

By co-incidence it's animal print Friday (unofficially) which was a fun coincidence :O)

Anywho, I'm planning on doing Archery tomorrow, so I better not dilly-dallying too much.

Right now I'm trying to figure out how to create a box for Sims to wear on their head - why do I want to do this, you may ask, well mostly so I can make my own little BoxFort - which is one of Dr Gluon's Tomodachi Life characters who is the personification of a box fort (whenever Doc plays a game where things come in boxes rather than throwing them out he proceeds to make a box fort of them). He's adorable and I think it'd be pretty funny to have him in game. Only problem, I don't know to actually make a mesh that has a hole in it so you can se his face. I found some bag head swatches with lots of different emotions on them, but it's not quite the same. But I may have to roll with it.

Fortunately, the kind creators of Sims 4 CC actually have a box costume so I don't have to worry about making that at least - the things people create, it's amazing, LOL.

I better be going now - before I do here's...

These questions were written by pebbleinalake on Dreamwidth.

1. What do you consider your current main fandom? (This can include hobbies and collecting. Anything you feel fannish about!) I'd say...The Sims 4 and the TV show Ghosts.

2. What was your first fandom? It was actually Inspector Gadget, my favourite cartoon! Dad even recorded a few episodes on VHS for me and I watched them endlessly.

3. Do you have any favorite headcanons or fan theories? Ooo lots! But I don't really have the time here to elaborate on them LOL. Most of them have probably been jossed, but what are you gonna do?

4. Have you ever created fanworks? Oh for sure! Mostly fan fic for Back to the Future, although I did write a fic for Ghosts too - although it did get totally jossed, boo-urns.

5. Are you still active in any old fandoms? I'm still a big BTTF fan, although sadly there's no Message Boards anymore - I do go to the Reddit page and sometimes there's interesting stuff there.

And now, I'm off!

Unexpected Closing Shift

May. 7th, 2026 11:43 pm
anonymoose_au: (Uther - The 411)
[personal profile] anonymoose_au
11:28pm: Yes! As it happened the Lite'n'Easy arrived at my parents place before I did this morning, which unfortunately meant that the box that the food was in a few weeks back wasn't picked up because I hadn't put it out. They should be able to take them next time, though.

As a result of this, I headed into work on time only to discover that I'd been put on the closing shift since on of the branch staff had called in sick - and I wasn't expected in until 10. The boss did say that he could do the shift instead, but after I flipped a coin I decided that I'd stay back (after all, while we were short on staff the boss was taking heaps of closing shifts) which means I get to start later tomorrow. Fortunately, the Thursday delivery of items wasn't nearly as big as Tuesday's one so with any luck I won't feel like I'm run off my feet.

Having said that, I should turn in ASAP, I didn't get nearly enough zzzzs last night (probably because it's that time o' the month) and even if I am getting a later start I need to catch up on those.

The closing shift went fine, we managed to get everyone out of the library on time - sometimes patrons dilly-dally - and while I did briefly look at some clothes at T.K Maxx (there was a nice white cardigan, but unfortunately, it was slightly too small for me) I didn't have to wait for the bus because the driver let me on even though they'd just pulled away from the bus stop.

The state of my apartment though almost prevented me from getting the pills I'm supposed to take during the first four days of my period - I ran out last time, but went to my doctor and got a new script. Which I thought I'd put safely on my bedside table only to find it not there! Fortunately I managed to track it down and got to the Pharmacy before it closed.

Anwyho, I better be off!

Insert Title Here

[personal profile] anonymoose_au
11:32pm: Heh I swear I used that title every second entry, but I fear I don't have enough things of interest to come up with anything of interest!

It was a busy day at work, not only were there lots of books to process, there was also a meeting and a farewell morning tea for one of our volunteers. The latter was fun, but with the meeting that was like a whole hour that I didn't do stuff. Then I was on the desk twice today, oh and the magazine, along the Read Nows (which are popular books we get 25 copies of for six months before they get returned). So yeah, a lot of work, but not a lot of time!

As mentioned I did order my Lite'n'Easy but I didn't go over to the parentals which means I'll need to do that tomorrow morning before work - which means I might be starting a bit late. Hopefully though I can still hitch a ride home with my colleague. We still haven't done last week's Travel Quiz!

That being the case I need to get myself to bed!

Trivial...

[personal profile] anonymoose_au
11:38pm: Tonight was Trivia Tuesday over at the pub across the road, I'd arranged for a group to attend but I kind of forgot to double check that people were coming so when I arrived at 7pm and didn't see anyone I was rather worried I'd be doing a solo effort! Fortunately, two other people joined me, although that did make for a small team. We started off strong, but in the end could only make it to 7th place - alas.

I did get to have my kid's slider meal though which is always much appreciated by me :OD

Moving right along, since I have to get my butt to bed because if my Fitbit is accurate my sleep schedule is severely lacking right now, I'm trying to decide if I should go over to the parental abode for the night tomorrow or drive over there on Thursday morning to check the plant situation and pick up my Lite'n'Easy. I'm not sure I wanna hang out at my parents place all by myself, I'm not sure what I'd eat for dinner. On the other hand, now that school is back the roads might suck and I'll have trouble getting over.

Well I'll have time to think on it, because I was on the 4 to 5pm shift at work today when I checked the roster and saw I'm on the Closing shift tomorrow - boo. This means I start late tomorrow, but also means I'll be finishing up late. Plus I'm thinking of going to the gym afterwards so it'll be well and truly dark by the time I finish up.

So yeah I must be off.

Half Day

May. 4th, 2026 11:50 pm

[personal profile] anonymoose_au
11:39pm: Since I worked on Saturday I had a half day today! Which I'm not sure I should have done because I might end up coming in a bit late on two of the Thursdays in May while the parental units are away since the Lite n Easy doesn't show up until nearly 9am so I might not be able to get into work until 10am. But if this happens I'll need to stay back an hour later to make up time, which means I'll miss my ride home with my colleague! I could have used my time off in lieu instead. I do have to ask what happens the LnE does arrive at a decent hour and I get to work on time because I don't want to have to stay back if it's not necessary.

In other news, I'm not entirely sure if the Doctor's Referral bruhaha has been cleared up yet, I did ring my GPs office and gave them the email address of the psychiatrist's office so hopefully it's all cleared up now. I also dropped into Service Australia to see about my Medicare card, it was definitely sent out though... I can ask for a new one, but then I have to update it at doctor's offices. On the other hand, if someone has the card that might be bad news. I guess it's possible the envelope is in my house somewhere but I don't think so, as they said it was sent out in January and I did a big clean up during that time. Of course, maybe that means I threw it out. Gulp!

Anywho, I better wrap this up because once again time is getting away from me, so on that note...

Don't Let Dr Gluon Drive the Bus!

[personal profile] anonymoose_au
11:06pm: Right I need to get to bed because after getting a headache earlier in the afternoon I feel super tired, but I'm catching up on some Dr Gluon videos and this one where he plays a new game called Bus Bound is peak entertainment. XD

Anywho, I went to Archery this morning and the new limbs on my bow are really working for me, I got another PB! Go me! The weather is still unseasonably warm though and I keep forgetting to wear sunscreen, which I probably should wear anyway, but especially when the sun is as bright as it is at the moment.

In other news, I'm out of garbage bags and laundry spray and I really should have gone out and bought them, but then I got the headache and didn't feel up to it. I have no idea what brought it on, I could have sworn I drank enough water today...I did play a bit of Sims 4, Julien the Carrot Gen Sim is now married! The wedding proved difficult to juggle, but it was a success :OD Still I don't think it was stressful to the point where it would induce headaches.

Right, this is a sadly short entry, but I must be off! Work is on tomorrow.

I Gotta Hang Up My Washing!

May. 2nd, 2026 11:33 pm

[personal profile] anonymoose_au
11:10pm: Yes! I finally got around to doing my laundry, which I've been procrastinating on all week - however I haven't actually hung it up, which considering the late hour is poorly done by me.

Anywho, I'll make this quick, I had my first Saturday shift of the year today - fortunately, my foot is much better now so I didn't spend all three and a half hours in pain, well mostly. Me being me, I now have something else going on, which is rather embarrassing so I'm not gonna go into it, suffice to say I once again skipped going to the gym - I guess I'll go Monday afternoon. Which I can do because much to my disappointment the furniture repair man is out of town this week, so no couch fix yet. I'm a bit concerned that he might not be able to give me much notice and work does not like it when you ask for time off with minimal notice. If the parental units were here I could ask Mum to let the guy in for me, but unless I want to wait until June to get this fixed nothin' doing.

So there was something I was going to say yesterday, but I forgot what is was at the time, then I remembered, but now I've forgot again, LOL, typical me.

Incidentally, the Doctor's Referral saga continues because I didn't realise my Doctor's office closes at 1pm on the weekend, since I dilly-dallyed this morning I didn't get a chance to go there before I had to start work and by the time I finished at 1:30 they were already closed. I could try tomorrow but I'm doing archery in the morning and I don't want to have to rush around. I may have to leave it to Monday. Which I guess isn't a big deal as it's not like anything can be done until then anyway.

On that note, I better meme and run!

The Friday Five

1/5/26

These questions were written by pebbleinalake.

1. Do you like to spend time outdoors? Hmm, depends on the weather and time of year, I do enjoy it on a nice summer day that's not too hot! But I'm not a walking in the rain kind of person.

2. What is your favorite flower? I've always been partial to red roses, to the extent that I actually tried (and succeeded!) in catching the bouquet at a cousin's wedding because it was a rose one. :O) Suffice to say I was not the next person to get married :OP.

3. Any favorite warm weather activities? Swimming, taking a walk, sitting inside in the air conditioning :OP

4. Have you ever kept a garden? If so, what did you grow? Sadly no, I'm not much of a green thumb, I've even failed at keeping cactuses alive! I do have one plant that my father saved from death some 20 years ago. It's very hardy and is still alive today and even flowers in the summer time!

5. Do you know how to swim? Having been born in Australia I do! Swimming is a very important skill here and as a five/six year old I went to swimming lessons at the local pool, where you had to reach certain skills to pass the course. I wouldn't call myself a strong swimmer, but I did pass and can keep my head above water.

Right on a final note, I went to church this evening and worked the PowerPoint, so although there was no singing at least the words were up there, which I'm sure was appreciated.

Aw Nuts...

May. 1st, 2026 11:56 pm

[personal profile] anonymoose_au
11:47pm: So I got to my psychiatrist appointment on time - but I had a bit of a panic attack on the drive over and while the appointment itself went well, I found out afterwards that for some reason they never got my referral (in order to claim money back from the cost of the appointment I have to have a medical doctor's referral) which is weird because I was sure I got one...

As it turns out, I did and the Doctor's Office where my doctor is said they'd fax a copy over, but when I called the Psychiatrist's place to pay (I always forget to move enough money over to pay, tsk!) they said they hadn't got the referral. Now, the Doctor's Office I go to is near the Mall and I'm working tomorrow so I'll be able to go in personally. I thought maybe I could avoid that by tracking down the hard copy which I guessed would be in my house if I never gave it to the psychiatrist and indeed it was!

Unfortunately, when I tried to scan it so I could email it, it kept saying there wasn't any document in the printer to scan - despite the fact it was in fact in there, and then I pressed the wrong button and it printed the test print over the top of the referral so now it's ruined :O( So that totally sucks...

So yeah, I'm gonna have to sort that out, if I want to get some of my money back.

Not much else to report apart from that, and it's five minutes til midnight, so I'm gonna head off now and do the Friday Five tomorrow.

Late Start Tomorrow

11:50pm: Although that's not an excuse to stay up late, but here we are again!

I'm a bit annoyed though, because I left my mobile phone at home today and the furniture repair man called wanting to know if I was doing anything tomorrow. Now I am having a half day, but I've also got an appointment with my psychiatrist so I actually have to leave around 10am so maybe there wouldn't have been enough time - plus I haven't cleaned up my house. Still, it'd be nice to get my couch fixed :O( He also offered to come by on Saturday, but I have a work shift that day, so boo hiss.

In good news, my right foot is feeling much better, so I'm wondering if I can stop taking the anti-inflammatories. The doctor didn't actually tell me when to stop taking them only to make a doctor's appointment if the foot wasn't getting better. I guess I'll have to ask the internet LOL.

Meanwhile the parental units are on the move, they're currently in Singapore waiting for their plane to refuel before it flies onto London. Apparently Dad has a cold, but lets hope not! I think it could just be allergies.

Hmm, I was about to type something else, but now I've forgotten what it was...oh well, the Library Manager decided to move into our Collections Area today! I'm not sure if he's going to be there for the long run, but I guess he might like it there better than the rather isolated single office in the back where he usually sits.

Anywho, it's about to midnight so I gotta dash!

Dang updates...

Apr. 29th, 2026 11:18 pm

[personal profile] anonymoose_au
10:59pm: So I was planning on playing Sims 4 tonight but I didn't check it before doing some Power Wash Simulator and when I went to check I saw there was an update was pending, which took like an hour to download. Seriously? I don't know why my internet is so slow sometimes... Maybe I shouldn't be watching YouTube videos at the same time? Either way it's only just finished now so it's too late to load it up now. How very rude!

In real life news, today was my supervisor's last day, there was a good bye afternoon tea, and she brought along a batch of the delicious cupcakes she makes, in the cupcake shaped cupcake carrier (it's adorable! I wanted to buy one myself, but could only find overseas ones and the postage is terrible) and the Library Manager bought along some sausage rolls and a co-worker had dairy-free ginger cake with cream (yum!) And a whole lot of people from the library service also came, so it was quite the soiree.

But now we are supervisor-less, so to speak, although the Library Manager will be overseeing us, but he has his own office down back.

In other news, I need to keep an eye on the roster because it keeps changing! For example it turned out that I was on the closing shift today - which I'm sure I wasn't before. Very weird...

Also I've been watching Dr Gluon's playthrough of the game Blue Prince and just started watching one that's been cut down a lot! I guess it was because there was a lot waiting around in this particular episode.

Finally, the parental units headed off for Europe today - they're going via Perth (as their original plan was to take the new non-stop flight from Perth to London - except it's not running at the moment - maybe something to do with the war?). I'm looking forward to seeing Mum's WhatsApp messages, especially from Malta.

Anywho, I should get going, I've been staying up too late this week (what else is new!) and that ain't good.

11:17pm: My Carrot Gen Sim, Julien - from the Very Veggie Legacy Challenge has completed his Aspiration! I wasn't sure I was ever going to get there LOL! So now the way is clear for the Squash Gen and the heir Squashington - although he's currently still a toddler...and I'm playing on Long Lifespan, I may have to change it. Although that will mean the Broccoli Gen will shuffle off this mortal coil, but I guess that's the point of a legacy.

In other news, I got to work for the opening shift today only to discover...I wasn't on it! I have no idea when that changed because I put the notification on my phone and everything, so I must have been scheduled to do it at some point. Even though we have a monthly roster, stuff does seem to change a lot. On the plus side I was able to be very helpful with the huge influx of items returned over the long weekend. I think we got on top of it all, although when I left at 4:30pm the courier had dropped off a large number of crates so hopefully the staff got through those, but who knows.

Since I came in early I left a bit early, and usually I'd go to the Gym as it's Tuesday - but I had to go to my parents place to get my car back and also farewell them as they head off on their European trip. They fly out on their first leg tomorrow morning, I hope they have a great time :O)

Anywho, it's coming up on 11:30pm so I better wrap this up. I have yet to hear from the furniture repair man, which is probably a good thing because my apartment is still a total mess. Ugh, come on me, get with the program! I may have to get some boxes just to throw all this stuff in them.

Have You No Concept of Time?!

Apr. 27th, 2026 11:55 pm
anonymoose_au: (Whoops)
[personal profile] anonymoose_au
11:55pm: No, no I do not, as evidenced by me leaving only five minutes to write this up!

Anywho, I'm happy to report I saw my friend Lara twice today, at first we were going to go swimming (I know! In Autumn) it was actually a pretty warm day today so it might not have been so bad, but before I got down the beach she decided it was too chilly for her so I ended up not bringing along my towel, so even though I had my swimsuit on, I wouldn't have had anyway to dry myself!

Although, Lara's other friend who she invited along was swimming, apparently she does so all year round, I don't think I'm brave enough for that!

Then I headed off to Mum and Dad's for lunch after purchasing the roast pork - and driving Lara and her friend back to the parking lot where she'd parked her car - I ended up parking on the other end of the beach to the rockpool swimming area because as I said it was a very nice day and a public holiday so the place was crowded!

The little bro was also at lunch to pick up Mum and Dad's red car while they're away in Europe, while I left my car at their place so Mum can use it tomorrow while Dad uses their other car to go to a physio appointment - I think. I'll go pick it up tomorrow afternoon.

I also saw Lara when she popped back down to my suburb to get some groceries, there was a plan to get some dinner but because of the public holiday all the places had a 15% surcharge, which made everything more expensive and I'm a cheap skate LOL. So we ended up not having dinner. Still it's good to hang out with people.

Right, I better haul, I've got the opening shift at work tomorrow and since we were closed over the weekend and Monday it's gonna be crazy!

Wish me luck!

New Limbs, New Me...

Apr. 26th, 2026 10:53 pm
anonymoose_au: (Feelin' Futurey!)
[personal profile] anonymoose_au
10:33pm: Sadly, I don't have new legs (which would be handy with all the trouble these things give me), but rather new limbs for my bow! I wasn't expecting them to arrive so soon - they were only ordered last week - but when I showed up today for archery, the President of the Club let me know they were here.

Since I wasn't expecting them I actually signed up for the really easy distance, 30m/20m/10m I'm happy to report that I got myself a genuine new PB finally besting a score I got last year. I almost an All Around 60 (Yellow) at 10m, but alas I got two scores in the red at the last end - however I have already got an All Around award at the distance, so I'm not too disappointed. Also 10 metres is like the distance you stand from a dart board so not that hard to get all gold on LOL.

After the shoot I decided to see if I could hit the target at 50m since I should be able to do that with the new limb - which increases the poundage of the bow. And indeed, I could! Not very well, but I at least got on the target so lucky me :O)

I packed up the target and headed off but rather than going straight home I went to the Mall to buy some more Chocolate bunnies - LOL I'm addicted. I did have some trouble finding a parking spot as apparently everyone and their mother decided to go shopping too (I guess because yesterday was a public holiday and tomorrow is as well), I did consider going to the Aldi to see if my cheese was there (it hasn't been at the one across the road this week), but I wanted to get home and watch Dr Gluon play the Very Veggie Legacy so I did that.

I also arranged to see my friend Lara for dinner this evening, but alas the best laid plans of Moose went astray as I came down with a terrible headache - which I can't take anything for at the moment because of the anti-inflammatories I'm taking for my foot, and also some digestive issues (boo) so I had to take a raincheck. I kind of delayed letting her know because I was expecting her to call me to confirm the time, but when she did call it was to let me know she (and her sister) were on their way. So I feel bad about that...I'm sure they had a good dinner though.

So I planned to play Sims 4 this evening, but I couldn't because of my headache, which thankfully has gone away, but it's bed time now, grumble. I won't to make sure I get enough zzzs! My brother and I are going to my parents house for lunch tomorrow and I have to bring the roast pork over - I also have to make a card for Mum for Mother's Day.

I'm also dropping my car off, because Mum and Dad are off to Europe for a month on Wednesday and are lending their car to my little bro - but they still need to do stuff on Tuesday, so I'm letting them use mine.

Anywho, on that note I better go. Wish me good health!

11:38pm: I've signed up for the shoot - in which case I better get to bed because that means I need to get up at about 7:30 tomorrow - and I'm hoping I'll be able to do it. The foot is feeling a lot better, but that's probably because I spent most of today sitting on my butt...it started to hurt again while I was at church which involved some standing up - not much standing though, so I'm a little concerned.

Still, I better do some activity, not doing anything will probably cause more harm - one time I ended up with a super stiff ankle after I hurt it because I didn't move enough. I wonder if I should make an appointment to see my actual doctor (I went to the Urgent Care medical centre for the issue), or should I see a physio?

So yes, not much to report - I watched most of the ANZAC Day March, Grandpa didn't go this year, I wonder what he did do actually...maybe I should call him tomorrow and see.

In good news I contact the furniture repair man today and he can fix my couch - it's going to be expensive but this is a really nice couch and it's not a standard size so I dare say it's wort it. He's going to call me next week so we can arrange a time, so now I definitely need to clean this place up!
