crossover_chickSo yeah, the whole job appointment thing didn't get off to a great start -- I thought the place I was aiming for connected to a different street than it did (specifically the one IN FRONT OF Providence Place Mall, not BEHIND it), and had to turn myself around a couple of times before I made it to where I was going. Fortunately everyone there was very nice, and the appointment there went very well. Filled out a lot of paperwork regarding going to work for them and for their client companies, keeping information confidential, understanding that I'll need to submit info for a background check if necessary, all that good stuff. Then I had a meeting with the woman in charge, we went over my resume, and -- and! -- she said that she already had something in mind for me -- a position in the mailroom at Brown University! It's entry level stuff and involves a lot of sorting boxes, but damn it, paying work! So here's hoping that will pan out. (And will justify the blisters I got wandering around today -- ow.)
After that was done, I spent some time at the mall -- had Subway for lunch, then put some charge on my D&B Powercard to play a few games. Then it was time to go back home and change out of my sweaty clothes (seriously, hot today), fill out some online stuff, and check in on DragonVale. A last-minute buying of a Giant habitat snagged me the Twilight Tower -- and they were kind enough to round up the 6 fireflies I had left over into two gems instead of just one. I also got the Gloaming Stone, their "thanks for playing" prize. Still kind of annoyed over the whole "we're not going to be clear on when exactly things end" issue, but I got everything I wanted, at least. Now it's time to decorate my new island and get back to restoring my food supply (massively depleted in my desire to get a Ruby).
No Hearthstone or fic updates today -- I've just been catching up on stuff I've missed and relaxing. Tomorrow we'll see how the job thing progresses. And next week I may be doing overnights at the housesitting gig so we'll see how that goes too. Right now, I'm going to see if I have it in me for even a quick round of RP replies. Later!
