Happy Learner's Permit Halloween!

Oddly enough, having to get up early to go to the DMV worked out in my favor -- if I'd done what I'd been planning and stayed up late/gotten up late, I probably would have gotten up covered in blood. Yup, guess what came on just as I was sitting down on the toilet this morning. Very glad it didn't completely ruin my clothing, though it did make getting through the day a bit tough. The first day or so of my period is always kinda groggy and grumpy.
I successfully passed the written portion of my driver's test, though! One question wrong, and that's because I misinterpreted what it was asking (double yellow lines prohibit passing on either side -- I was thinking in terms of traffic going opposite ways on either side). So I officially have a learner's permit now, and did my first official road driving early this afternoon! A few loops around the local beaches in traffic-light areas. Did all right, though I'm having trouble stopping JUST where I ought, and there was a worrying encounter with a truck I didn't realize was that close behind me when I tried to change lanes once. But Dad and I made it through without anybody crashing or me getting in trouble with the police, so that's something. Damn it, that was kinda nerve-wracking, though, especially since Dad changed the "course" on me halfway through. At least he thinks I did very well -- I think I would have done better if I wasn't dealing with the crotch-bleed. Nothing I can do about that, though, so. . .
On the Halloweeny portion of the day, here's what I got accomplished:
-->Watched Corpse Bride just like I wanted -- lunchtime movie. I still love spotting new details in it -- I had no idea before today the tables in the Ball & Socket were painted! Couldn't quite see the design, but it was pretty.
-->Played the Alice: Madness Returns Dollmaker boss fight -- unfortunately, I couldn't get AMA to start up, so I had to skip the Queen fight. *grump* Dollmaker fight was still good, though, and it was nice to get a shot of Alice.
-->Two combined led to a nice editing session on Chapter 3 of "Remembering You" -- got past Victor falling asleep on Alice and trapping her in the room, and Alice helping Hatter, Hare, and Dormy make up in Hatter's Domain. Almost done with this one now, yay! And then we move back onto bigger edits. . .
-->Watched Helloween's last Haunting Ground set (Flaming skeleton monsters! Stripperific outfits! That damn dog not doing what he's told!), his special Halloween mini-double feature (two non-horror but rather shitty games of the past, Mortal Kombat Mythologies and Superman 64 -- yes he actually PLAYED some of that shitfest), and his thoughts on a Dragonball Z game that I know basically nothing about (looks like a fun little brawler though). I wanted to start his Silent Hill stuff today, but time forbade -- I'll catch up with that and Castlevania Saturday tomorrow, along with Linkara (who had to upload his episode late because of special effects).
-->Maxed out my candy again in Whitbee's Candy Bash in DragonVale -- looks like I'm going to have to buy the Nightbloom though. My breeding attempts are not going well. :(
-->Dressed up and handed out candy to trick-or-treaters -- my costume this year was 2016 Ghostbuster! In a rare turn of events, said costume is entirely storebought -- I believe I may have mentioned before that Mom said it was cheaper to just buy the jumpsuit w/inflatable proton pack than make any of it from scratch. Still got lots of compliments on it. :)
And that's about it, really. Busy day, but I'm glad I was able to get most of what I wanted done. Even through my period. . .bleh. Time to lurk on tumblr and see what else might need catching up on. Night, and Happy Halloween!
