Freaking Cold Saturday

crossover_chickWHYYYY did we decide to do the outside decoration today? It was cold as BALLS -- I mean, not record-breaking cold like on Thanksgiving, but then again I wasn't OUTSIDE at any point on Thanksgiving. Today Mom and I were on the front porch getting the house all prettied up for Christmas, and -- well, we kept having to duck back inside because we were both FREEZING. It was pretty miserable -- and I was outside less than her! At least we got just about everything done -- the only part not completed was the garage, and that's because Mom wants to find a flat reindeer decal thing to stick on the door with a bunch of snowflakes. We couldn't find one on our brief trip to the dollar store for said snowflakes, so she's going to try another place on another day.
The dollar store ended up being the only place we went -- Mom decided she didn't want to fight the traffic and that she'd go grab the bag herself one afternoon, and Dad never indicated he wanted to go out either. I think really that nobody wanted to go out any more in the chill -- which, frankly, I didn't either, so fine with me. Did still kind of throw my day off -- I got my sheets changed, but my room cleaning's going to have to happen tomorrow as between the decorating and a late lunch (we got subs from a local Jersey Mike's sub shop -- Dad and I had Philly cheesesteaks, Mom a club sandwich. Dad's and my sandwiches were kind of meh, while Mom enjoyed hers but said the prices were too expensive, so -- *shrug*) I would have never had any computer time if I'd done it today. Not the first time I've cleaned on a Sunday, and there's never that much TO clean -- it's just a matter of my shelves taking a while. . .
Anyway, I did get a fair few things done this afternoon:
-->Finished up the next "Technicolor Phase" short, with Emily splashing down in Wonderland. Up next is a Bonejangles short about him and Lizzie -- and them noticing the growing interest Alice, Emily, Victor, and Victoria have in each other. ;p
-->Played some Sims 4 -- Eric had a pretty standard day at work, though he did get promoted to Lieutenant! Since this unlocked some new decor and such for him, I decided to give his house a makeover. Took a while, especially since the roofing on his one diagonal bit is super tricky, but I eventually got something that worked. made some rooms larger, other rooms smaller, swapped his study and bedroom, and upgraded some of his stuff. And put out as much of his Detective stuff as I could. XD What, if it appears for free in his household inventory, may as well use it!
-->Went on a Deligracy Sims 4 binge -- a pair of townhouses build for her latest LP characters (she's doing a Let's Play for Get Famous featuring a bickering couple); a million-dollar mansion build (it came out so cool and elaborate); a 15-minute diagonal build challenge (which came out -- less cool thanks to Deli trying some interesting house design and panicking about the time); and a silly video where Deli and a friend made a gingerbread house and Deli made a copy in Sims 4 (both turned out adorably ridiculous). Good stuff! Even if I'd meant to watch at least one Sim Supply video too. . .well, tomorrow. Sunday is kind of my YouTube binge day.
-->Got another Scene from Secundus up on AO3: hooks! Another one that's been fairly substantially rewritten, but I can't resist the urge to edit. It's just Nell being a stubborn bitch in the face of evidence that she's wrong about Alice, basically. Business as usual.
So yeah, can't say this was a fail of a day. Hopefully tomorrow will be good as well. And warmer. As it stands, though, I'm in the middle of some RP stuff, so I'd better get back to that. And get a drink of water -- really thirsty for some reason. Hmph. Night all!
