crossover_chick: Doc snoozing on his couch (BTTF: exhausted)
[personal profile] crossover_chick
More bills coming in the e-mail this morning -- including an extra charge on the water bill; I accidentally ran a red light this morning (I was trying to make a turn and hadn't realized the light had changed until it was too late and I'd hit the gas), so now I'm waiting to see if I get a ticket; some donors having problems with the website now means I have to set up "special pledges" because God forbid we change the actual page; and traffic getting home was ABSOLUTELY MISERABLE. Took me a good forty-five minutes to get home. *heavy sigh* I want a do-over on today, please.

. . .and then a tumblr friend sends me a really nice message and now I'm a blushy mess. ^^; Okay, so today hasn't been ALL bad:

-->Aside from the website thing, work was actually relatively quiet, and I was able to get a bunch of checks on, so -- progress?

-->More of the StrangerVille LP from The Sim Supply -- Holly actually successfully fought a coworker for an infection scanner (particularly impressive as she STILL has yet to attend a single day of work), and used that along with a handy scientist friend and the curio shop to get herself a working hazmat suit so she can wander deeper into the lab. James also had her nom on a bizarre fruit, so now she gets possessed randomly at night. Well, it keeps her needs up. XD

-->More of the Metro Exodus LP from Helloween -- the passenger car has been successfully towed over to the Aurora, the sidequest items handed out, and the main plot officially re-engaged. Unfortunately, the set turned out to be a "greatest hits" of things that annoy Hells in this game, including:

1. Slow overland travel -- as he put it, the atmosphere is nice, but a fast-travel option might have been good too

2. Large amounts of annoying enemies with an equally-annoying ranged attack (specifically, mutated crab-things that can spit acid)

3. Hilariously bad voice acting (the kid they got to voice the kid is -- trying)

4. A poorly-handled stealth section -- he'll be the first to admit he's not GOOD at stealth, but the game practically CHEATED at one point by having enemies spot him through a giant barrier of heavy boxes. Nobody can figure out how the AI saw him. He managed to get past it after a few tries, but you could tell he was frustrated

5. Inexplicably low frame rate (when the commandeered tugboat pulled up to the control tower they were hoping to raid)

I mean -- it's a good game, he enjoys playing and I enjoy watching, but it's nowhere near perfect. Maybe once we get out of this swampy bit, things will improve. We should be coming to the end now. . .

-->Posted the last chapter of "The Technicolor Phase" -- Chester Gray! Short, but hopefully sweet.

So that was all nice. Something, yeah? And now I need to clear out my inbox and hit the sheets. Fingers crossed Thursday improves on the sucky parts of today. Night all!
