Yeah, he showed off a bit of them in the review, and -- yeaaaah, not great. And he complained about the editing too! Ugh. . .if I was going to watch, I'd definitely stick with finding the original G1 series.
Yes, I did notice that about his characterization. Actually just saw a post on tumblr that said he'd be a real threat if he ever got his shit together, but as he never does have his shit together, we're all fine. :p
Indeed -- I mean, it IS technically a entirely different character, but. . . And I can see where you're coming from -- severe injuries like these are only to be expected in a dangerous battle, yeah, but given it's SO close to the original's design and backstory. . .plus, Spike was already a Headmaster, so this does feel a bit like overkill. (And is that so? Oh yikes. D: They don't, don't they? Gotta love that fucked-up writing.)
