Not So Bad Friday

Traffic coming in was MUCH better, Talky Coworker left early, and the day was busy in a not TOO stressful way (mostly putting on a couple of larger gifts). . .things only got really annoying when it came time to leave and one of the back office guys came out for a long chat with my other coworker, then my attempts to leave with a minimum of encountering other people didn't go so hot. *sigh* But hey, got out of there, got home, and now it's the weekend. I am le relieved.
With that in mind, let's look at the to-do list:
1. Get in a workout: No check today – decided to take today off and pick up again over the weekend. I’m between episodes again in “Nuka-World Level One Survival,” so this felt like a good time to take a pause. We should catch back up with Minnie tomorrow!
2. Edit some more on “Londerland Bloodlines”: Check – Alice has made it to the beach, and had her first encounter with Rosa! And, much like when the Caterpillar played oracle for her in the original AMA, she finds it troubling some random person knows her business better than she does. XD But she is intrigued by meeting a fellow Malkavian – though before she can have a real conversation, she has to take care of Dennis and his gang first. . .
3. Keep up with YouTube Subscriptions: Check! Complete opposite of yesterday, with everybody I follow uploading, but I managed them all!
A) Started with James Turner and the current last episode of his The Tenants LP, showing off an update that’s dumped a bunch of new items into the game and working toward getting that $10,000 lease! . . .Which he actually got pretty early on with that house he kept renovating the hell out of, because the money flow has been rebalanced too, and now that place commands a higher price. The flip side, of course, being that all of the BUILDINGS are way more expensive too – a big house that James was saving up toward (almost to $400,000) is now waaaay out of his reach (you need about a million). So he bought some smaller places and renovated those, including one of the captain’s cabins on a boat (sticking in a tiny kitchen area, bedroom, and bathroom) and a new nice apartment with the help of a loan (filling it with plants and badly-clashing expensive furniture as this game has no concept of swatches). He also filled some vacancies in his already-existing spaces – mostly with criminals and people with bad tenancy histories. XD Well, someone has to keep a roof over their heads! Just seems a touch counter to James’s goal of milking them for as much money as he can. . .
B) Then it was time for Fun With Shorts and “The Pot Heads in Let's Get Nice!” Which is – literally a group of friends filming themselves smoking a joint, interspersed with various images of a flag and cityscapes and whatnot. Four and a half minutes of badly-lit nothing. Josh’s riffs were cruel and swift, as they should be. I particularly liked him reminding us that, in the past, smoking weed was considered “more dangerous than a gender reveal party.” XD Oooh dear, where does he find these things. . .
C) Over to Call Me Kevin and a return to The Sims 4 after that, with Kevin using Jim to speedrun killing an entire neighborhood (Forgotten Hollow) in the game! Said speedrun took an hour and 37 minutes because Kevin insisted on legitimately joining each household and varying the deaths, and he seemed to inevitably pick deaths that took ages. The first family he tried to set on fire with his magic powers, but repeated use of extinguishers kept that from taking off for quite a while – he managed it in the end, but it took like half an hour! The second one he managed to successfully freeze to death – all except Lilith, who is a vampire so she’s immune to the weather. On the other hand, that meant she stayed alive when JIM died of old age, and was able to successfully plead for his return. Jim set her on fire as a thank you. XD The third family Jim took to the local pufferfish restaurant – however, some better cooks had been hired since Jim gave the place up, so he had to rebuy it and make sure the food quality was set to poor to make sure his victims actually died. And in the final house – he just locked the two people inside a sauna, which proved to be the quickest (and most relaxing) death in the whole run. XD But he – well, he MIGHT have managed it. Jim was collecting the gravestones of all his victims for trophies, and I didn’t see the unique vampire one in the lot. . .then again, Lilith did save his life, so maybe he left it with her just having toasted toes. We’ll see if that state of affairs lasts the next time Kevin visits this game!
D) And finally we had GrayStillPlays and Happy Wheels! And ooooh man, the boards this time around. We started with a “can’t do an intro, gotta swing!” rope swing (where he got impaled a couple of times, in some rather awkward ways), moved onto the run of “sadness spikes” (a spiked ceiling with a carefully-placed hump in the floor – however, the way Gray hit it meant his legs instead of his head were taken off and he ended up winning), then onto a pogo jump with multiple modes (determining just how many harpoons and crossbows were launched at you – Gray accidentally blew himself up on “baby mode” with the single crossbow, but managed to deftly dodge all the harpoons on “hard mode”), then a mine jump with a variety of alternate challenges to complete (Gray managed to somehow LAUNCH HIS CHARACTER ABOVE THE HARPOON RUN and completed it perfectly – he had a bit more trouble managing the various mine hops and jumps, though), and then – oh, then was the mosquito tsunami. A board where you are chased by those living sai things through an obstacle course of spikes, swords, a glass wall, chunks of scenery out to kill you, and two jet walls. Getting through it all without getting pulverized by something or another was pure luck. Gray did manage it, but not without taking some serious psychic abuse. I was crying laughing by the end. XD Good stuff.
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: Check – Victor Luvs Alice was already set, and I had a thread and an ask over on Valice Multiverse. Nothing too complicated.
*nods* Not bad, am I right? And now I'm prepping for the Friday Night Writing Thing -- just gotta answer my DW comment and I'm largely set. Oh, and get the Saturday To-Do List ready:
1. Edit some more on "In A World Of His Own" Chapter 4
2. Watch Plumbella, onlyabidoang, and OXBox in Watch Later, do best to keep up with YouTube Subs
3. Play Sims 4 and continue advancing Eric's new Medium skill
4. Get in a workout
Seems mostly reasonable -- I'm not ENTIRELY sure how well I'll succeed at the YouTube one, but if I can clear out at least a few videos from the WL, I'll be pleased. *nods*
Okay, let's get this party started -- night all!
