Busyish Friday

crossover_chickI mean, most of the day has been pretty quiet, but I'm kind of busy NOW (cowriting something with a friend), so let's the get the standard to-do form sorted, shall we?
Work – Another fairly quiet day – got most of the remaining credit card nonsense sorted, did a bunch of obituaries, helped my coworker with some letters and my boss with making notes on some people regarding a certain mailing. *shrugs* Nothing to write home about, nothing to complain about. Worst part of the day remains the commute, and there’s nothing I can do about THAT. Besides stay home, which I intend to do this weekend. :P
Beanbags – Yup, given it was a very nice day out today. And today was the same as Wednesday, only my and Dad’s scores reversed – he had the good first and third game, I had the good second. (Though the third one was kind of a slog for us all. . .) Final scores were me 2-W-2; Dad W-2-W; Mom 3-3-3. We’ll see if things get any better on Saturday!
To-Do List –
1. Get in a workout: Check – back on the bike, to finish off the Oxventure “High Moon!” After I found it again, because the damn TV downstairs decided that I HADN’T watched any of it, actually, so it wasn’t going to show it to me. *grumbles* Anyway, I got back to where I was, with Prudence having reduced Wolfgang to zero hit points – rather than going for the kill, though, she wanted to go for humiliation, and thus pinned him and held his jaw open with her powerful claws in a submission pose. Wolfgang managed to transform back enough to talk and thus declare he yielded – the gang let him sweat for a bit, then accepted his surrender. Wolfgang agreed that the werewolves would go reform their gang somewhere else, though he complained that it didn’t seem like a fair fight. Not because he’d noticed the cheating, mind – instead, he’d been feeling “peaky” ever since Prudence bit him, saying that he’d been thinking about honey and scratching himself on trees, and wanting to take a nap whenever he got things out of their cold box. . . Hmmm. Seems that even if the curse didn’t FULLY take, some werebear got in there just the same. XD Anyway, he also asked that they be allowed to stay for the night, as it was the full moon, they were all very hungry, and Egbert did have a big old barbecue going on – the Oxventurers were happy to allow that as long as he said the “X-Blades” ruled, which he did (though he transformed halfway through, so it ended up as “X-Blades ruooooooooowl” XD).
And so the adventure with everyone partying on the beach all night as Egbert cooked up a storm (and Seal Gaiman tried to out-eat Prudence) and Frankie, now in werebear form, giving Prudence “thank you” tackles and getting a bear hug in return. And when morning came and Prudence could speak again, she decided that being a bear was cool enough that she’d keep her werebear form for the moment. Which Frankie and Jamila were very happy about, as the wizard guy they know who can lift the curse is such a tedious pain in the ass, with his weird way of speaking and his stupid summons. . . Yes, it was Binbag. XD Corazon was like “you are not allowed to lift this curse EVER Prudence.” XD But yes, Prudence shall stay a werebear for the time being, Port Morecow now belongs to the like-minded werebear population, and Frankie and Jamila are indeed taking the holiday to go meet Jamila’s parents, aww. :) Rather wholesome way to end an Oxventure – or, at least, it would have been if Merilwen hadn’t insisted on making a bear pun at the very last second. XD All Johnny could do was rub their face. . .
As that was only about a third of my workout time, though, I needed something else to fill the remaining twenty-odd minutes – fortunately, itsmeTroi had a new Sims 4 mods video up that I could watch! Featuring such things as “More Traits In CAS” (exactly what it says on the tin), a mod that locks most of the clothes in CAS and forces you to buy them at the thrift store (for those who want more realism), the “realistic childbirth” mod (a bit too real for me!), and the “Be a Burglar” mod (where you can turn Sims into burglars and have them break into houses and suchlike – this IS a skill you need to level, though, and her testing Sim got caught and arrested XD). Always interesting to see what else is out there!
2. Continue writing “Londerland Bloodlines: Downtown Queensland”: Check – having consulted Hannah’s appointment book (and gotten past the fact Hannah serviced both Arthur Kilpatrick and Vandal Cleaver), Alice has discovered that Jezebel Locke is in the Brooklyn Suite in the Empire Arms Hotel and has made her way over there, leaving Victor to call the CDC regarding the corpses and to get a check-up. She’s managed to bluff her way past the front desk by claiming to be Jezebel’s sister (helped by the fact that Jezebel is always open to visitors), and is now on the elevator up. Next time – FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!
3. Keep up with YouTube Subs: Check – fairly easy three-in, three-out –
A) Started with the latest Fun With Shorts – “Whatever Is Fun!” A terrible cartoon about a king who spends all of his time complaining about how he never has any fun, and finally sponsors a contest to get someone to show him how to have fun. Winner is a wise old man who quietly points out to him that he MUST be having fun complaining and making everyone around him miserable, so. . .yeah, basically the short was all about the king accepting he’s a total asshole. Josh was not amused. XD
B) Then it was over to Call Me Kevin and “Disney Dreamlight is an accidental nightmare!” Yes, Kevin has procured Disney’s attempt at an Animal Crossing/Stardew Valley-esque game and turned it into – well. Kevin made a character who looked a bit like human Shrek from the second movie, covered his face in glitter, gave him bright blue twin ponytails, and named him Drug dealer. XD He then proceeded to learn how to use fire hands to destroy thorny vines from Merlin to open up his new drug pad; got Scrooge McDuck’s help in returning capitalism to Dreamlight Valley (via the method of eventually finding Goofy’s house, giving him a fishing rod, and convincing him to reopen his market stall); collected a bunch of various tools to stop it being constantly night; met Mickey and made an all-apple fruit salad at his house, which for some reason was enough to get the guy to hand over all of Remy’s recipes; and designed his own clothing line with the “Feed Me Drug” shirt, making sure to use the Monsters Inc. “M,” of course. Gotta get that copyright infringement going! Also he started a small wheat farm, caught a trout, and took LOADS of selfies so the police would have plenty of incriminating pictures. XD And rightly bitched about how quickly the game tries to shove micro-transactions on you. Actually, there was a LOT of joshing about Disney being a capitalist nightmare – and the video ended very abruptly. Uh – here’s hoping you come back on Sunday, Kevin! XD
C) And finally we had GrayStillPlays and “1 giant vs 1,103,000 stickmen” – aka Join Clash 3-D! Another one of those “run through the obstacle course collecting something” games – in this case, you are collecting a literal army as you dodge various spiked and smashy things so you can defeat the boss at the end (either a giant stick person of some description or a different army – which may in fact be the army of a real player!), storm the castle, kick out the king, and celebrate your victory! Along the way you upgrade your weapons (from baseball bat to knife to machete to Minecraft pickaxe), upgrade your shield (from a Target-brand circle to the colors of MURICA), and get new hats (ranging from a football helmet to a rainbow-horned unicorn head). Along with building your own castle (Gray with with a purple evil theme, along with the world’s most horrible frog) and doing bonus levels where you fire a cannon upon the armies coming to storm YOUR home. XD Gray was very keen on destroying all in his path, as you might imagine, be that his own guys or (preferably) the competition. The unicorn head must RISE! XD
4. Get my tumblr queues sorted: . . .N/A? It’s downright silent over on Valice Multiverse at the moment. Might try some fandom reblogs later, but if I’ve got nothing to reply to. . .
So yeah, quiet in some ways, rather busy in others! And now, for the Saturday to-dos:
1. Clean my room and do the monthly wash
2. Catch up on Kevin's Spider-Man 2 video and the two-part Hitman 3 video from OXBox in the Watch Later if possible
3. Play Sims 4 and get Victor's wand and broom; send Smiler to Foxbury School Spirit Day; and have Alice do more werewolf things
4. Continue writing "As Long As You Love Me"
Yes, I am being VERY SPECIFIC in what I want to get done in Sims 4 to avoid me just puttering around. :p But yeah, typical cleaning Saturday stuff, I think -- and we'll see if I can get both Kevin's long video and the OXBox two-parter in one day! One can hope. . . Night all!
