Necon was WAY COOL
Jul. 16th, 2004 10:34 pmSeriously, it was really fun. We came early and had donuts. I got to meet Craig Shaw Gardner that morning, actually. Mom got me to talk to him, and he told me something interesting about writing the BTTF II novelization. Apparently there was so much action going on in the Enchantment Under the Sea and other scenes, that Bob Gale made him a video of the set so he could tell where everything was when he wrote it. He also told me that every Thursday was the day he got the new script changes so he could update the novel accordingly.
We went bowling (they hold an Olympics, with medals and everything), and got to carpool with Mrs. Gardner, and another man. Mrs. Gardner was really nice, both on the ride over and the ride back. Dad also won the silver medal for bowling!
We attended a couple of the panels on writing, and went around the dealer's room. I bought a Marvel Comics Encyclopedia (volume one), three vampire magazines, "Dreams of Decadence," and two pins -- "All I want for Christmas is my two front fangs" and "The past isn't dead. It isn't even past." :)
Later that night I caught up with Craig Gardner again, and he signed my Part III novel for me, as well as another book I bought of his. Mom took my picture with him too -- I'll post once we develop.
-D: *yawn* Busy day.-
Very busy. And of course the day had to end with Mom's car deciding to overheat randomly (we're getting it looked at). I'm exhausted. *waves to friends*
