crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
The Clayton girls and I are adapting to Lorraine's move-out to marry George. I've deleted her old bed, but I'm not sure what to do with the space there. Maybe it's time to put aging back on for a little while and get Jennifer and Marty grown up and married. (Doc's girlfriend status is still up in the air thanks to that crash.) Monday I had Clara call Lorraine just to boost their relationship. Jennifer also called Lorraine, and her pal J.C. after school. I was able to fulfill a nice little want when Jennifer and J.C. became best friends over the phone. Lorraine also called back for Clara -- I let Clara take the call to get her social up.
-J: Awww, we miss our friend.-
Hey, you guys were together for a while. On Tuesday, Clara called up Doc to chat before work. I looked at the number of friends she needed to get her promotion -- two. I already had locked Jennifer's want to be friends with Allison Fuchs, Eddie's sister, so either I tried getting Clara more of a social life or I got another Jennifer friend. Turned out to be another Jennifer friend -- Jennifer brought home Kendal!
-M: Kendal?-
Ironically enough, the Kendal that on your end has dipped into the danger zone. She and Jennifer made best friends over chess while Clara skilled up. (Incidentally, I think Clara might be the first one of my Sims to get all her skills. :)) After chess, Jennifer relieved herself, did her homework, and called up Edward. She bestfriended him over the phone too and satisfied another want.
Wednesday was the really good day, though. Jennifer called up Allison before school and got within a few points of befriending her. She also brought home a new friend from school, a kid named Blair Mace.
-M: O.o Blair Mace?!-
Don't blame me, blame Maxis. Turns out the townie names are based on the names of the team members for the Sims 2. Anyway, they chatted, then Jennifer painted while Clara greened. They did a family kiss and a hug, then Jennifer got sent to the piano. Since I was feeling bored, I decided to try something new -- invite the headmaster over and see if I could get Jennifer into private school. I called him up, then set about making Clara cook some turkey. We did some schmoozing (which didn't go over too well), tried out the tour (which went over okay -- only the Living room was that great), and ate dinner (which gave us some great food AND schmooze points!). I also had to keep Clara from trying to take a bath while the headmaster was there. We ended with Clara and the headmaster playing chess. Shockingly enough, Clara befriended him! So at the end of the day, with a score of 95 points (above the 90 you need), Jennifer got into private school, while Clara has a new friend and can get her promotion!
-J: Cool, except what about Marty?-
-M: Lemme guess, that was your practice run for the Brown/McFly house.-
*grin* I'll be trying for you soon. Private school has some nice advantages -- won't sock it to your needs as badly. Plus you could earn a free skill point.

As for my musings -- I'm currently having a debate with myself over Doc's age.
-D: *blinku* All right, she claims to love us, yet she doesn't know what age we are.-
Well, it's like this -- should I go with the script/novel 65, or keep using my own pulled-outa-the-air 64?
-VD: *playfully* Why not use TAS's 63?-
-VD2: *teasingly* Would be nice to be a bit younger.-
*snicker* I'm serious. I'm not sure which one I like more anymore.
-VD: You've been using the 64 age for a while now, haven't ya?-
True. But I also do like to defer to the scripts/novels.
-J: Says the girl who decided to ignore my birthday was technically given in the Part II novel.-
That was refuted on-screen with the cops' delcaration you were 47. You'd be 46 if you were really born on October 29th. Doc's age, though, was never mentioned on-screen. So you gotta go to the second-sources. Those say he's 65.
-VD2: Or 63.-
-D: Might as well use 64, it splits the difference.-
I noticed that. 65 does make your age a bit easier to work with, however.
-D: Only a bit easier?-
Since I'm using the Chris Lloyd birthday, you were born late in the year, and that means, like me, you don't turn the "proper" age until late. (With my birthdate, I might as well have been born in 1987.)
-M: I've got an idea -- write them down a few times on a piece of paper. Then take a pen, close your eyes, and pick one.-
*laugh* Actually, that's a good idea. Thanks. *patpat Marty*
