*muses jump, spooked*
-E: Victoria?-
You win! You win! I'll write the damned "Boy Genius" story! You happy now?
-H: . . . Yes?-
*attempts to glare but has to giggle at Holly's expression* Muses. . . .
-TD: I thought you hadn't thought up an ending to that yet.-
Well, I sorta have, though it'll be one of those "ride off into the sunset" endings. The basic storyline I've got mapped out. Basically it'll be a Girl Genius AU, as the main quartet will be eventually joining up with Agatha and Gil.
-H: We shipping that way?-
Yes, I think I am. I LIKE Gil! I want to see more of him, damn it. *needs to get those remaining pre-web issues* Though I do hate to hurt Lars, I like him too.
-D: *pats on shoulder* Well, we look forward to seeing it. But what convinced you?-
*holds up a set of papers* Hell, I'm already writing it during dull periods at work. Might as well make it official.
-OD: Will you be drawing any cartoons to go with it?-
Let me do the cheese one! You won't see anything, it'll be strictly from chest up!
-TD: *nervous* Maybe we should let her draw it before she actually DOES it.-
Speaking of work, today was -- interesting. Most of my shift was dead -- wander around, look in the catalogues my boss has for cool Halloween stuff, write short snippets from "Boy Genius" --
But then, about noon, SHE comes in.
SHE is this woman who apparently is watching her grandkids while her son is off traveling. And she's also running errands -- such as doing the laundry. The laundry her son hasn't done in a month.
She has 5 sweaters, various blouses, 11 pairs of pants and 24 laundered shirts.
ALL. RUSHED. FOR. SATURDAY.
Before you say anything, our pressers have been taking Saturdays off all summer (the place is closed on Sundays), and this was the last weekend they would be leaving. Not only that, we don't generally rush shirt orders, as we send those out to be laundered.
PROBLEM.
Well, Bonnie is trying to contact the boss, and see what she can do about all this, I'm entering in the insane amount of normal drycleaning (21 items, on two tickets (the max for one is 15)) --
And suddenly all the customers decide to come in! Luckily the Huge Order woman is willing to wait while we straighten things out and serve the other customers. One of these customers also happens to be picking up clothing, and he pays Bonnie for a $28 dollar order with a $100.
And of course, the drawer Bonnie is using doesn't have enough change to break it.
Confusion ensues, but Bonnie eventually gets the guy his change and gets the go-ahead from the boss to rush the order. Woman ends up with six tickets -- two from normal drycleaning, four from the shirts (we split it up into four orders of six each). Bonnie counts the drawers up and balances them while I start bundling the shirts and tagging in the items.
And somehow, despite it all, we finish by my end-of-shift, one o'clock. Course I stayed an extra 15 minutes to help deticket and bag a line of clothes in the back, but that just startled me. Also proved my hypothesis -- time does NOT go faster when the shop is full of customers. In fact, it goes slower, since you're packing more stress into less time. *sigh*
-VD: *patpat* It can only go uphill from here.-
True, true. Considering I have a 3-day weekend coming up, which I plan to use to watch Part III (Monday is September 5, so I'll watch then to get an important Part III date). Yay for BTTF months, starting tomorrow!
revison_doc update, from the Von Brauns/Shaws. Sarah has transitioned to elderhood, and the twins are now toddlers.

^Jason is an Aries, with 10 Neat, 9 Outgoing, 5 Active, 6 Playful, and 3 Mean.

^Keith is an Aquarius with 4 Sloppy, 5 Outgoing, 4 Lazy, 6 Playful, and 6 Nice.
-M: Keith seems to be the more balanced of the two.-
Heh, yeah, I noticed. Jason takes more after his father -- Sabastian is 3 Mean too. I'll have Emily and Sarah work on that. I'll have to load up on Smart Milk for these two as well.
And that's the me report. Back to working on "Eight Arms to Hold You."
-OD: By the way, concerning the sequels --
Thinking of starting "The Gift and The Curse" after I finish up "UEA." Either that or a NonTrilogy Fic -- "Past Amnesia" or "Reno Runaway." Remind me to start sending out "Reality Check 2" for revison too.
