Strangetown Shorts
Jan. 31st, 2006 10:18 pmGot in two families in one hour -- granted, these were both two-person families. I played the Hardnames first -- Jim and Henry are getting along just fine.

After the usual morning stuff (Jim uses bathroom and makes a mess, Henry uses bathroom and cleans up the mess), Jim called Bella Goth while Henry headed to work. Jim followed shortly after, so most of the day was quiet. Henry did get a chance card about finding a flaw in a new surgical technique -- he could speak up during the meeting or quietly contact someone afterwards. I had him do the second, and his supervisor ended up taking credit for his concerns. *headsmack* Luckily, no money was lost, and Henry was promoted to Resident (it claimed that Adelaide helped get him promoted, how sweet).
Jim was also promoted (to Waiter) and met a friend, Dominique A. They chatted and joked for a bit, then I sent him away so Jim could use the bathroom.

After peeing, Jim invited Ariana over -- and like Arazel with Carla, he wasn't shy about expressing his affections.

-D: I thought that behavior annoyed you.-
It's annoying when I've already set the Sim up with their match. Jim is going to get with Ari anyway -- just need to end relations with him and Mystie.
-VD: *nodnodnod*-
Anyway, Jim and Ari talked and played into the night while Henry did his studying for his next promotion.

There was also a little romantic stuff involved -- Jim gave Ariana a back rub, then charmed her. Voila, a crush.

-VD: Hey!-
Mysteria has TWO other loves. I think she can begrudge Jim his crush.
-VD: *grumble* Point.-
Anyway, they parted on a kiss -- a good sign of things to come, I hope. Jim then went to take a bath in their new shower/tub set -- I'm sick of him splashing water all over the floor.

Henry stayed up late with the telescope, then called Gypsy and upped their friendship some. Jim finished a picture he was working on, then they both went to bed.

Over at the Smyth-Jones, it was Saturday -- Adelaide made herself some breakfast and did some work with her dummy, while J.C. played bass.

-M: Did she just pull a hamburger out of that dummy?-
Yup. There were also a number of phones and quite a few barbeque lighters. J.C. had breakfast and called Marty eventually, then Adelaide offered her lessons at the station.

J.C. accepted and quickly earned a mechanical point -- though she did accidentally kill the dummy. Adelaide wasn't too pleased.

After that, it was back to the grind for Adelaide, while J.C. wandered out to buy an MP3 player (she had the want, why not?) She ended up at 121 Jigowatt in the Smoogo. Feeling bored, she played some darts.

Then she spotted an interesting little situation. Buzz Grunt and Lazlo Curious were around as well, and Buzz was picking on Lazlo and making him cry.

Enter J.C. Jones, defender of the Knowledge Sim! She told Buzz off (lay off you big bully) and threw a drink in his face!

-Docs: *applause*-
:) Justice served, J.C. bought her MP3 player, soaked in a hot tub, then went home. Buzz was really furious, though -- I expect him to start stealing the paper soon.

Back at home, J.C. tried to get some more creativity via the bass, but was interrupted by a random visit by Jennifer and Marty. Adelaide worked on cleaning a bit after finishing up her mechanical.
Then it was off to relax on their beds, as I had run out of time and had nothing more for them to do. Besides, I'm planning on marrying Adelaide off to Henry soon -- my main reason for playing was to load up her inventory with the essentials (car, medical reward, aspiration rewards, bass) so they wouldn't have to reacquire them on Henry's lot.

-VD2: We like this new inventory feature, huh?-
Dead useful. I plan to use it mostly to keep date trinkets -- Marty and Jennifer will be bringing their roses to college in Twin Oaks Park for example.
-J: *beam*-
-M: Heh, cool.-
Accomplishments today:
-->Aforementioned sims
-->Did some editing on "Teen Doc" after getting betas from
bttfbabe. Not a lot to change in these last few chapters, so expect updates soon.
-D: Great. Then what's next?-
I may write and type "Past Amnesia," or I may try to reduce my stack with another oldie. Problem is, most of the ones I have written a) need another rewrite, and b) take place further in the future. Gotta start writing in order, darn it.
-DW: It would help, yes. It's weird catching the bunnies sometimes.-
I would expect so.
--> Wrote my page in "Dusky Past" -- the boys have gotten the info on Clara and are about to draft their letter -- in this version, they're not trying to use the train, but rather getting gas from a gas station that opened on September 5th, 1885 in another state.
-VD2: *approvingly* Interesting twist.-
I thought so. Also, another way to make it different from "There's Always Tomorrow."
-VM: Trust me, I think they're different enough.-
-->Finished inking on "Goggles" -- just need to clean up and color.
-OD: *tentacles gently high-five* Nice work.-
Yes, well, I have some Valentine's Day pics I want to get done, so I'm trying to get stuff up quicker.
-OD: Oh, great. What are they?-
"Dingbots in Love" -- GG fan picture, naturally
"Sparky Love" -- TeenDoc: For you, my love.
ConstructClara: Oooh. *opens package* . . . It's a mechanical replica of a heart.
TeenDoc: Isn't it great? It plays music!
-M2: *snrrrk*-
-TD: *pout*-
Wait, not done, there's a closer:
Holly: You should see the Valentine Maxim got me.
Maxim: Hy tought it vas traditional to giff a hart!
Holly: A chocolate one!
-H: I am amused and grossed out. Nice job.-
I try.
