*Works on "V.D."*
May. 12th, 2006 11:20 pm-VD: Ah, good. Have you finished torturing my best friend yet?-
Getting there -- you're just about to stake Sucker.
-M2: Finally!-
I also added in some bits about Mysteria's name to both "Play Mystie For Me" and "V.D." -- I can't believe that I never thought to try and explain "Mysteria" before.
-VD2: Considering she's the most oddly-named of the AlternateGirls, that was quite the oversight on your part.-
Yeah, I know. Here's what happened with Mysteria's naming -- in "Play Mystie For Me" (which I'll be revising after I complete "V.D.") she mentions that her parents were Puritanical, if weird with names. In "V.D.," after revealing she's a vampire, she explains further:
“Is your name really Mysteria Jones, then?”
“Unfortunately enough, yes. You remember how I told you my parents were rather Puritanical? Well, that’s because they were Puritans. They named their kids all sorts of weird stuff back then, and I was unlucky enough to be born after a sermon about the ‘mystery and wisdom of God.’ I suppose I should be grateful I didn’t end up with Wisdoma.”
-VD: Do you really think they'd name a kid Mysteria?-
*points to her Salem witchcraft book* According to that, at least, people sometimes named their kids stuff like More Mercy and Truegrace. And don't forget the Mathers, Increase and Cotton. It may be a stretch, but I don't think it's that much of one.
-M: It's still a pretty strange name, though.-
-D: I don't know -- remember that bad baby name site Victoria showed us a while ago? I think we've come full-circle since the Puritan times.-
*snork* Tell me about it. I'm glad I have a nice, normal name -- Victoria. :)
-TD: And I'm glad I have a nice normal name too, Emmett. Granted, I'd like to become known as "Lord Emmett, Master of Mechanics," but it's better than "Lord Aufulwulch" or something.-
. . . . I have to figure out how to use "Aufulwulch" in a fan fic now. Might make a good last name or place name.
-TD: Er, glad to help.-
-DW: And, right on cue, a plot bunny pops up, saying, "Use it as the county name in 'Baron Von Braun!'"-
Hey, if the shoe fits. . . . (Baron Von Braun is a fic I'm planning where the NonTrilogy foursome visit Germany)
As there was new Rose Potter to gag over on HMS STFU, and a looney-tune to watch on Dr. Phil, I decided to have a Hill Valley build session. I hadn't visited Downtown in a while, so I popped in and went to work trying to create the 1885 Clock Tower.
-VuM: That's cool. How'd it go?-
Eh, I'm not quite happy with the outside. I found a cross-hatch wallpaper pattern, but I don't know if it's the right one. Hmm.
Here's what I got done (yes, the top IS brick in 1885):

That long column is standing in for the flagpole. And I couldn't find an appropriate window for the clock hole. Hmf.
-OD: *tentacles chatter* Why is there a door in the front? And lights inside?-
Welll. . . You see, I want my Sims to visit the place, but there'd be little for them to do there if it was the regular 1885 Courthouse square. So I remodeled the inside.
-VD: Into what?-

-VD2: . . . You turned the Courthouse into a BOWLING ALLEY?!-
*blush* Well, I was wondering what to do, and I saw that it was long and thin. . . . The part for the Clock Tower is actually an illict room for pool and cards.

-M2: You're terrible, you know that?-
-MF: I'm sure she does.-
:p So, anyway, this is Hill Valley Downtown.

We have the DriveThru Marty leaves for 1885 at (top), Biff Tannen's Pleasure Paradise (between the spotlights), Cafe 80s and Lou's Diner (two blue buildings -- Cafe 80s has the yellow roof) and now the 1885 Courthouse. Hmm, I need to get building on a few other courthouses.
-J: Any plans to do anything with the shopping district?-
I see the shopping district like the college -- a chance to do more original stuff. Linda will probably move into there and build a botique. Not sure about any other plans, though. Hmmm.
-D: I'm sure you'll think of something.-
Yeah, I hope.
Okay, time to finish up "V.D." revisions. Then maybe bed, I'm tired.
-TD: You? Go to bed before 2 on a Friday?!-
What? I'm tired!
-VD2: She's not going to actually do it. She'll stay up all night reading Rose Potter.-
I will not!
-MF: Place your bets! 10 to 1 she goes to bed early!-
-DW: Make it more like 1000 to 1.-
Hey,
ael_muses, want to take these guys for a little while?
