crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (exhausted)
What is your alias?
Flaming Trails is my fanfiction name, after the trails the DeLorean leaves when it goes through time.

What fandoms do you write for?
Back To The Future, movieverse!X-Men, movieverse!Spider-Man, "Girl Genius," and a smidge of Harry Potter.

What fics are you currently working on?
"BTTX-2: Time of the Spider" --> A massive BTTF/X-Men/Spider-Man crossover and sequel to "BTTX" featuring the BTTF characters as mutants helping the X-Men and Spidey against Magneto and Venom
"Boy Genius" --> A BTTF/Girl Genius crossover featuring a younger Doc Brown as a Spark
"The Originals" --> A muse-based story featuring my original three Docs and the old Terminator crew
"Congraduation" --> A Trilogy fic for [livejournal.com profile] backtothefanfic, focusing on Marty's graduation
"Past Amnesia" --> A NonTrilogy fic that has Doc losing his memory while he and Jennifer are in 1957

What fandom did you start in?
Actually, my earliest pieces of fan fiction were Marx Brothers-based. You know, Groucho, Chico, Harpo. . . . Harpo was my first "fictional" crush, actually.

What is your deepest, darkest fic-writing secret?
I've actually admitted what fiascos some of my earlier stories are (and I'm not even talking about the early FF.net stuff, I'm talking about my preweb days). So here's one I haven't mentioned before -- I actually crossed BTTF with MST3K, and I did ONE ENTIRE MST3K EPISODE in SCRIPT FORMAT for that crossover. I simply added in Doc, Marty, and Jennifer making their own comments. The episode in question was Manos: The Hands of Fate. I can't BELIEVE I actually wrote that, and I REALLY can't believe how many times I watched that particular tape to glean dialogue!

Do you have any quirks/habits in your writing?
Almost all of my fiction is first written out in longhand in a notebook -- I rarely just type up a story. Those that I have are usually very short and/or humor. I also seem to like giving Doc some sort of superpower. And I LOVE angst.

Do you have any fanfiction pet peeves?
Bad spelling. I go nuts if a person can't spell. I also don't like BTTF slash -- two of the main males are related, and the central male is just underage. Can't see it.

Do you have an OTP?
Hmmm, I sail a number of ships -- here's the ones for the fandoms I mentioned:
BTTF
HMS Astronomical -- Doc/Clara
HMS Seeking Jules Verne Fan -- Doc/OC
HMS The Once and Future McFlys -- Marty/Jennifer
HMS Daydream Believer and Homecoming Queen -- George/Lorraine
Girl Genius
HMS Sparks Fly -- Agatha/Gil
HMS Jaeger Hate Club -- Boris/Von Pinn
HMS Master or Mistress? -- Klaus/Vrin
MovieX-Men
HMS Mythological Powers -- Scott/Jean
HMS Faith In The Storm -- Kurt/Ororo
HMS Sucking In The Ice -- Bobby/Rogue
MovieSpiderMan
HMS Red Goes With Blue -- Peter/Mary-Jane
HMS T.S. Einstein -- Otto Octavius/Rosalie Octavius
Harry Potter
HMS Heron -- Ron/Hermione
HMS Government Stole My Toad -- Neville/Luna
All ship names except for the Harry Potter ones are from me.

-D: I see some new ship names on there. Care to explain?-
-TD: I'm especially curious about this Klaus/Vrin pairing. I believe the term is WTF?-
I simply love the idea of Gil being a Giester's son. We even have a bit of evidence for the idea -- we know from Volume One that Gil can apparently move inhumanly fast. And speed seems to be a trait of the Giesterdamen. Vrin, Eotain and Shrdlu are the only ones we know the names of, and I like Vrin the best. The name comes from Vrin struggling over her love to Klaus (Master) versus the Mistress.
-OD: And the X-Men/Spider Man ones?-
"Mythological Powers" -- both Scott and Jean have had mythological names. Scott is called Cyclops, and Jean went by Phoenix.
"Faith in the Storm" -- a reference to Kurt's religious piety and Ororo's (Storm's) weather-controlling power.
"Sucking In The Ice" -- References to Rogue and Bobby's powers -- Rogue sucks the life from people, while Bobby can create ice from the water in the air.
"Red Goes With Blue" -- Spider-Man's costume is red and blue. MJ has red hair, while Peter is often in a blue mood.
"T.S. Einstein" -- a reference to Otto's science background and Rosie's literary one.
-VD: I think you just like making up ship names.-
It's fun. :) I'm not a really rabid shipper, but I like the idea of ships having names.
-D: I think that last question was actually asking for only one pairing, though. Do you have a favorite out of all those?-
-VD2: And if it's "Seeking Jules Verne Fan," you have to specify with which girl.-
I don't want to play favorites among your girls! You'll end up sulking.
-VD: We ALL know it's Gypsy, we've handled it so far.-
. . .
-VD2: You talk about Gypsy all the time. Plus, I believe it is a little telling that the version of Gypsy in Twin Oak Parks -- the one you're using as something of a model for the fanon version -- has three bolts of chemistry with me. My Josephine hasn't even gotten a chance with me.-
*headdesk* I'm sorry, guys. The plain fact is, Gypsy is a little more interesting. Mystie and Josie are both getting into Mary-Sue territory -- Gypsy was the in-joke character who decided she liked one of the main characters. I do still love Mystie and Josie -- and hopefully, editing over the stories will help me love them even more.
-VD: It's all right. We're not jealous of NonTrilogy or anything.-
-D: *looking a bit nervous* I hope not -- I'm the only one without a real superpower.-
-VD2: We try looking at it this way -- favorites will be picked no matter what we do. And her favorites have a tendency of changing, depending on what she's most interested in. *looks over at TeenDoc* However, I do believe that she's finally settled on a real favorite this time.-
-TD: . . . That scares me, honestly.-
*attempts to glomp-hug the lot of Docs* I love you ALL. I admit that your rank changes as I become interested in different things, but if any of you left, it would leave a big hole. I'll always have a place for all of you, no matter what happens with your stories. I mean, I'm sure DocWolf will attest to that.
-DW: *smile* Yes, I think we're all safe.-
:) *hugs all* You'll always have a place here. I promise.
Now, to go back to writing before I'm forced to bed. Sooo tiiirred. . . .
-D: No [livejournal.com profile] revison_doc update?-
Well, yes, but it's a short and extremely boring one about Gypsy's parents. I'd recommend you read it, though, just to see that Marie isn't evil in all universes.
-D: . . . You're giving me the mother-in-law from hell, aren't you.-
There's a reason I named her after the mom in "Everybody Loves Raymond."
