Weird Things
Nov. 27th, 2006 11:57 pmDespite getting up at noon and watching BTTF:TAS episodes until 3:00, I actually was fairly productive today. Got a good chunk of editing done on "V.D.", more done on "Marty In Wonderland," and I finally got around to watching that Biff Tannen video and editing "Absolute Power." Still below the word count though. WTF, I say.
-VD2: I think it's you rebelling against having to spend any more time with Biff than necessary.-
*chuckle* Maybe.
-VD: Maybe you should watch TAS more often, it seems to inspire productivity.-
LoL -- on "Marty In Wonderland," yeah. That's a TAS-universe story.
-HD: *beams with pride*-
-DW: Don't get too happy, she's having more "TAS Angst" bunnies.-
-HD: *smile fades* I think this is what I get for being partially inspired by the American McGee version of the Hatter.-
Buck up, sweetie, "Marty In Wonderland" is the one that's getting written.
-HD: Yeah, but I know you have plenty of slots to fill in your drabbles88 table.-
We'll see what happens.
Oh, speaking of TAS, I have an addendum to my previous TAS Rant, concerning Doc's eye color:
Mainly, I may have unfairly maligned the actual cartoon. From what I watched today, Doc's eyes are generally depicted as simple black dots, with occasional forays into a weird dark teal. And in at least one episode, the colorists yanked their heads out of their asses long enough to acknowledge his real eye color -- "Gone Fishin'," the episode with a young Doc, acutally has him with brown eyes!
-D: O.o-
Yeah -- it appears that the comic colorists are the real culprits in giving Doc blue eyes. More research must be done first.
-TD: That's odd.-
Most things about that series are odd:
1. Marty regularly rides a pink hoverboard around Hill Valley. First, I would have given him a nice blue or something -- I know it's a homage to the hero board of Part II, but that one's gone. Second, nobody notices the darn thing has no wheels? This also applies to Doc taking the DeLorean and train out flying/time traveling.
2. As mentioned in the rant, Jennifer's new look. WTF? It doesn't even look like Jennifer anymore! Bring back the brown hair!
3. The varying animation styles between characters. Marty looks more realistic, Doc more cartoony, and most of the extras are REALLY cartoony. Also, WTF is up with the noses of the kids?
4. THEY FIXED THE CLOCK.
-Docs: WHAT?!-
Seriously? Apparently, the clock tower clock is no longer stuck at 10:04.
-D: Blasphemy!-
Yeah, I know. It may be a kid's cartoon, but seriously -- DON'T MESS WITH THE CLOCK.
-HD: . . . I'm starting to understand why you mix this series with Sluggy Freelance and the like.-
Yeah, I know. It's very hard to accept just "straight." I may take little details, but trust me, TAS will NEVER be a truly canon offering.
-VD: Not that it matters much, seeing how much AU stuff you write.-
LOL, yeah, really.
Anyway, I'm off -- need my sleep, and to do more "written" writing. I'm falling behind on that.
-D: You are too. At least you have ample opportunites to catch up with the new afternoon shifts.-
A stroke of good luck, yes. Right now, back to "V.D." editing.
