Updates Forstalled By Movies

Specifically, we went to see Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End today. I'm -- not sure how I feel about it. I certainly don't think it was a waste of time (a good number of funny sequences, and some very nice fight scenes) -- but I get the feeling I'd have to see it again on DVD to fully appreciate everything. (This happened to us with Shrek 2, actually.) Jack Sparrow was in good form, though. As were Pintel and Ragetti.

The most WTF-inducing moment of the film -- finding out that Captain Barbossa, mutinous first mate of the Black Pearl, Pirate Lord of the Caspian Sea, superb swordsman, and apple lover, has the first name of -- Hector.

HECTOR.

I know, I know, it's the name of a great champion of Troy in Greek Mythology, it's a perfectly fine name -- but I STILL don't think I can take him seriously. Hector, God. . . .

Anyway, long movie, combined with what I usually do, means the sims update this weekend will be confined to one eurekasims update. A good one for Emma. I don't know if I'll try to make up the deficit with revison_doc later or not. And don't even talk to me about my stories. It feels like I'm smashing my head against a brick wall in just trying to write. The ideas are there, but. . . .
At least the boys are down in the basement and not bugging me too much about it. VampMarty got VampDoc2 some new chemistry equipment, so they're doing some experiments. The rest of the Martys and Jennifers are off visiting their dads.

Okay, I'm not going to go get all bitchy about my stupid procrastination. I'm going to go update eurekasims and then probably go to bed. Happy Father's Day, everyone.
