I'm Not Popular With the Muses
Dec. 3rd, 2007 10:54 pmAnother afternoon of doing nothing -- and this is AFTER I got out of work early! (Was fairly dead for a Monday) I blame this trainwreck:
Play It Through: BTTF Parts II&III NES
There's 14 PARTS, each roughly 10 MINUTES LONG. And it's just Part II -- he quit before Part III. Seriously, it takes about 2 hours to beat Part II. And the music -- MELTED MY BRAIN, I TELL YOU! Horror. . . .
Speaking of horror, the beginning section of Sci-Fi's miniseries "Tin Man?" Major disappointment. The acting is shitty, and the script -- it's -- it's not OZ anymore! It's some sci-fi mockery! Everyone's names have changed, the setting's all different. . . . You know what? "Tin Man" is to "The Wizard of Oz" as "Looking Glass Wars" is to "Alice In Wonderland," essentially. I'm terrified about what's going to happen to Neverland at some point.
-HD: *sulk sulk sulk*-
-D: To be fair, couldn't this be seen as somewhat hypocritcal of you? You admit to adoring "American McGee's Alice."-
I stand by my stance of "that's different." American McGee kept it as WONDERLAND. The guy designed it to work as a sort of "third chapter" to the story. Wonderland has all the familiar characters, and even though they're warped, they're still recognizable. "Tin Man" -- you know who's who because you're HIT OVER THE HEAD with it, but it lacks that connection to the original work. Hell, Oz isn't Oz -- it's the O.Z. Outer Zone. WTF?!
Personal pet peeve -- the lead in "Tin Man" is called "DG." I do not know why, but that bugs me to no end. Her name's Dorothy!
*sigh* Well, maybe it'll give me inspiration for the background/possible playaction character I've got for "Midsummer Found." Her durance WAS supposed to be constant playacting of her three favorite fantasy worlds.
-WRM: Thought it was just Wonderland, given you named her Allysin Wunderlandt.-
It focuses mainly on Wonderland, but Oz and Neverland featured too. I really just gotta get these character sheets done -- I think I'll go work on Doc's a bit more.
-RPD: You owe me that much, yes.-
I know!
-TD: Oh, go fangirl over Gil.-
Oooh, with pleasure. *fangirls* He is freaking AMAZING.
-VDM: And looks like his dad's beyond proud of him.-
I know! :D
