crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
-M: o.O?-
At the drycleaners. As of today, I've been working there three years.
-M2: Wow.-
I know, huh? I figured I might as well mark the occasion, so I took the family out for sundaes. Had a banana split with Forbidden Chocolate, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, and Hunka Chunka PB ice cream and hot fudge, M&Ms, and crushed Heath Bars for toppings. (Actually, I got whipped cream, sprinkles, and nuts too -- apparently they come standard for splits.)
-HD: Mmmm, sounds delicious. We should hold an ice cream social here!-
-OD: *tentacles chatter excitedly* We're game. Though we should probably hold it at the Inkwell so more people can come.-
-HD: Ah, yes, must accodomate our guests.-
-TD: Maybe I can get to work on a new ice cream scoop?-
Oh wow. What do you have in mind?
-TD: Self-heating to make scooping easier.-
-D: Hmmm, interesting idea. Though that WOULD lead to the ice cream melting faster.-
-AJ: Who cares -- I think it tastes better a little soupy.-
LoL.
Anyway, work today was busy -- had a lot of clothes to get through, and customers kept coming in. Had one guy at the beginning of the day who was annoying. He dropped off some shorts, then after I'd processed the order, asked how much they were apiece. I told him our price, $5.23.
Him: Really? You're sure that's right?
Uh, yeah, buddy, it's right. Trust me. He waffled for a while, then took the shorts back -- apparently it was too much. *shakes head* Look, I know it's expensive, but EVERYTHING is going up these days! We need to charge that to get any sort of profit! The customer behind him agreed with that sentiment -- she seemed even more ticked off by it than I did. :p Not to mention that the shorts he dropped off looked quite washable.
-VD: *raises eyebrow* So -- why go to your place of business?-
I don't know. I get lots of khakis and stuff like that every day. People are lazy?
-VD2: That can't be it. It probably takes just as much effort to bring the clothes to you as it does to a laundromat. And the expense of drycleaning offsets the gain in time resulting from not doing it yourself. Not to mention you have to remember to pick up the clothes.-
Yeah, some of our customers have a real problem with that last one. Whatever.
Tomorrow is cleaning day, both in my room and on the computer. Going to make those backups I need, then see about fiddling around with Sims. Also gonna place orders for stuff -- the BTTF Minimates, of course, but I saw something on the Girl Genius site too.
-TD: *eager* Is Volume Seven out?-
Not yet, but I thought this was neat: Mini squeezy wrench!
-D: *laugh* It's a stress grabber, isn't it?-
Yeah, but it's nicer than those balls of sand.
-DW: We could certainly use one around the house.-
Aww, I don't put you guys under that much stress, do I?
-RPD: Well. . . .-
Hey!
-RPD: *laugh* We're talking more about lab accidents.-
-TD: Exactly. Order a dozen.-
*snork*
And now, to see about getting some writing done. Thanks to Gigs's little present to me, I'm actually feeling a bit more inspired on "When Worlds Collide -- Really Collide."
-DW: To be fair, you're always a bit inspired on that.-
Yeah, but not it's on actual collection rather than the dramatic and silly finale. Tootles!
