Just My Luck
Jun. 21st, 2008 11:01 pmWhy are Saturdays suddenly so quiet? That's the day I can actually play, Rift! Give me some action!
-RPD: No responses to your thread still?-
No. He's in the lobby, somebody go say hi.
-D: Give them some time, somebody might still come along.-
I know, I know, I'm just impatient. Maybe I'll do some more organizing while I'm waiting -- make a quick list of Doc's possessions for the Organization post.
-RPM: Uh, what possessions? Didn't he go through the Rift with just the clothes on his back?-
Yeah, but he's picked up some new clothes since then. But you do have a point -- he really only has some basic outfits and all his notes on the flux capacitor and the like. As soon as I can get him some cash, hopefully he can get properly started on his project.
-VD: I should hope so.-
Yeah. I also decided to be proactive and added Marty directly to the Wanted Characters list. Please, someone play him. Rift!Doc will not stop being at least a little sad if someone doesn't, and I feel guilty.
-RPD: That reminds me, you need to add my new Marty to your user info and the muse page.-
This is true. I'll get going on that soon.
Not much else happening. Just got a page done on "From the Ashes Reborn," hoping to work on "When Worlds Collide" more later. Watched some MST3K shorts over lunch, which was nice. Mostly, today was about vegging out over TV Tropes.
-VD2: *sigh* We were hoping your interest in that site had waned.-
-DW: Especially since you spent a good portion of the day looking at HORROR tropes.-
What can I say! I'm a sucker for horror!
-HD: *rolls eyes* All this horror and angst.-
Hey, you just remember that it's horror and angst that brought you into existence.
-HD: I'm a comedy muse! I disavow any -- wait, this ties back to American McGee's Alice, doesn't it?-
Wouldn't be in the fandom without that game.
-HD: . . . . I hate irony. I must have a word with him.-
I wouldn't, it would probably end up badly for you.
-HD: You may have a point.-
-OD: I hope you've moved off that particular stream of thought. The boys don't like being compared to tentacle monsters. *tentacles shakeheads rapidly*-
LOL, actually I'm looking at Choose Your Own Adventure book stuffs now. You know, they did ones for Star Wars, the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, and Disney? Not to mention the other series like Give Yourself Goosebumps and my D&D Endless Quest books.
-TD: I think we can tell where this is going.-
-VDM: To listen about author bitch about the lack of a BTTF-themed book, go to page 17. To roll your eyes and talk about something else with your friend, go to page 199.-
-HD: To leave the room and go eat all the potato chips, turn to page 62 1/2.-
Hey!
-TTV: I'm not familiar with these books.-
They're basically a bunch of little stories all tied together. You start out reading the main scenario, then the book asks you to make choices. You go to different pages for each choice, and eventually come to an end. I had a bunch when I was younger, they were fairly fun. And I've still got the D&D ones over there. *points*
-TTV: Interesting.-
-M2: Wonder what a Corpse Bride one would be like. "To choose Victoria as your bride, go to page 24. To choose Emily as your bride, go to page 29."-
To decide on threesome action --
-TTV: Go to no page at all, because you're a impeccably repressed Victorian gentleman. *pause* Wait, that didn't come out quite right.-
*laughs*
-MHG: To say "I didn't want to get married at all," grow a spine and confront your parents.-
-TTV: You have not MET my parents, have you?-
-MHG: I've heard the stories. I'm making a point of it not to.-
Aaanyway, I have more web wandering and fic writing to do. Laterz.
