crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (EEK)
-RPM: Still flitting around [livejournal.com profile] dear_multiverse, huh?-
Yeah. *blush* I would like to join, but -- it always feels like the wrong moment. You wouldn't think that would apply to a multiverse, on-the-cracky-side community, but. . . . Somebody give me a push.
-RPD: *push as ghost*-
EEEK! *jumps out of chair* What was that for?
-RPD: Got you moving, didn't it?-
Ha ha.
-VD: So, I take it things are slow in the Rift at the moment?-
A little, yeah. No threads I can concievably see Rift!Doc joining. Though hopefully [livejournal.com profile] _coherent shall be online soon, and he'll have Aubrey to see again. I'd like Doc to visit the Main Gauche and meet up with a few of those. So far he knows pretty much all Conradians.
-DW: Still want that breakage with Suzie?-
Maaaybe. I suppose it would be better if I planned it out with Suzie's mun. But I'm shy about RiftingChats too. *sighs* I is a bad mun.
-RPD: No, you're just nervous. Go ahead and jump on in.-
I can't! Yeah, the first RiftingChat was okay, and Multiverse seems very relaxed and casual, but -- well, I gotta admit, I don't like chatting in general. I can NEVER keep up. And as for Multiverse, I still wonder if there may be a problem with Doc being a Rift character. I mean, I don't think there would be, but -- this shit bugs me.
-TD: We could probably power a small city off your case of nerves.-
Yeah. New power source -- the fears of people on the Internet.
Anyway, other than that, it's been a pretty typical day. Work was better if busy. Not quite the shithouse of yesterday. Got plenty of fanfic done -- another page on "Corpse Mask," and more edits on "V.D."
-M2: *offers high-five to Victor*-
-TTV: *accepts, a touch hesitantly*-
-VD: Sounds good.-
Yeah. Chapter 12 might be the fastest chapter to go up. Then it's back to "Boy Genius."
-TD: *nodnod* I'd like to have my story finished sometime.-
I don't doubt it. Sorry it took me so long -- my brain's wired to chase after new ideas constantly, methinks.
-VD2: At least you tend to try and finish what you start.-
I make the attempt, yes.
-HD: And you should always start what you finish.-
That generally helps with the finishing, I find.
-HD: Precisely!-
I also spent most of my day wondering about how the hell I'm going to work Arcanum. Because unlike Eureka and Twin Oaks Park, Arcanum is fairly self-contained. The idea is that it's an island nation that's pretty much cut off from most of the world. So the citizens basicallly have their island and that's it.
-D: Sounds intriguing. So they can't go to any other subhoods?-
Well, sort of. They can get into college, but you have to have a scholarship. And they can go on vacations. But yeah, no downtown. And no main neighborhood either, since they're technically a subhood.
-D: Hmmm. Interesting.-
Yeah. Basically, my idea is that everything in the town is local. People will own business that sell furniture, food, and all that. And careers need an actual physical presence of sorts on the island. Of course, now I'm trying to figure out how to make that work, and what careers would actually show up in Arcanum. I think I'm gonna have to make a document about this and puzzle it out.
-OD: *tentacles cheep* There are worse ways to spend your creative energies.-
But I fear it'll make me go mad. Though there are worse things.
-OD: Oh?-
I seriously considered combining the Asylum and Apocolapyse challenges.
-OD: *and tentacles* . . . .-
-HD: That's more madness than even I'm prepared to handle.-
-M: How would that even work?!-
Well, I was planning for my Aslyum to be a round-robin affair anyway, since it was going to be an All Knowledge Cuties Asylum. . . .
-VD: You make things way too complicated for yourself.-
Yeah. See above with the RPGs.
Also, I made the mistake of looking at Apartment Life. Though I have absolutely no interest in the actual aim of the pack -- yeah, I want it.
-RPD: Er--
They brought Makin' Magic back.
-RPD: Oooh. *pause* What?-
-D: You weren't around for Sims 1, were you? That was her first expansion pack for the original game. And her favorite. Her Sims did magic all the time.-
That and gardening. Hence why I was so squeetastic with Seasons. Of course, since FreeTime won't install on this computer, there's no reason to think Apartment Life will either. *sulk*
-TD: I forsee a trip to Best Buy in the future.-
Or something. Damn Vista. . . .

Random note of the day: Shortly after I arrived at work, I saw a guy in a Batman costume running down the street and waving. For serious.
So it's official -- the price of gas is now so high that even Batman -- a noted millionaire -- cannot afford it. "To the Bat-Jogging Shoes" just don't have the same ring, does it?
