Halloween Searchings
Oct. 11th, 2008 11:09 pmSpent most of the day today wandering around local consignment shops, looking for parts to my Halloween costume. We found a skirt, blouse, and vest that look pretty cool. We're still looking for shoes (maybe -- I still have a servicable pair of black boots I wore with my Alice costume), gloves, and maybe a hat. Nothing we found looked right, sadly.
-TD: Aww, too bad.-
Yeah. There's still a couple of weeks til Halloween, though, so there's still time to look.
-HD: Precisely. Something will turn up.-
I hope so. I like steampunk, and Mom likes it too. This surprised me a little, but hey, it's cool. :)
Played some Alice -- I'm saved shortly before the Tweedle battle. Annoyingly, I had to delete a slightly-later save because I saved just as I was getting knocked off the walkway I was on. Not smart.
-D: Heh. So tomorrow we tackle the Tweedles?-
Pretty much, yeah. I expect to die a LOT. Evil things. Darn Medium. ;)
Also did some writing, though I've hit a bit of a block on "Cinder-Marty." I'm not sure the original bit I wrote here actually works, but I can't think of anything to replace it.
-DW: Don't worry about it too much. It's only draft two. It's not like you can't replace it later, once someone's given you advice.-
I know, I know, but I worry about these things.
-OD: Any other fic?-
-TD: Hint hint?-
Honestly, I think I'll just update your thing tomorrow. Then I'll go through the chapters for a final mistake-check and tweaking, then upload the official trivia page.
-TD: I can work with that.-
-VD: Then it's back to me and OckDoc, correct?-
Correct.
Not much happening on the RPing front -- Thane's dominating the Rift, and Clockwork's Nexus threads are fairly quiet. Though he inadvertantly summoned an absolutely humongeous SurrenderBot in the Big Cowardly Robot thread. Swear, it's one of the most giggleworthy things I've read in a while.
-RPD: The Nexus is an incredibly strange place.-
Tell me about it. I have also decided that Clockwork's birthday? Day he learns about flying in-Rift. Somehow or another, I will make it happen.
-VD2: We'd better give him a few more lessons on landing, then.-
Heh, actually, he's EXPECTED to be awkward those first few times. Just make sure he's good by the time I do the "teach me how to fly" thread, where he's going to jump off a building.
-RPD: . . . I thought you were DONE killing off characters.-
He's going to live! I would not plan a thread like that if he wasn't going to live. I've learned from you, honestly.
-RPD: I hope so.-
Anyway, that's it for this entry. Let's end on a Random Thought of the Day: I was looking at the save icon in WordPerfect today, and it occurred to me that, although these days people mostly use CDS, DVDS, USB sticks, and the like -- the save icon is still a floppy disk. I believe this proves floppies are effectively immortal. Never mind there's absolutely no way to use them with modern computers -- they will live on!
. . . Yes, I'm weird.
