Things Which Have Made Me Laugh Recently:
Aug. 18th, 2009 04:22 pm1. The description of how the Guild of Thieves operates in Ankh-Morpork. In particular, the mention of rich citizens paying the guild to be left alone, which is known by a foreign word -- in-sewer-ants.
Considering how much I LOVED Twoflower (and am praying he shows up when Rincewind goes to visit the Counterweight Continent in "Interesting Times"), it's really great to see he's left an impression on the city. :D
2. This comment to this particular metaquote. I mean, the entire thing is hilarious, but this one made me crack up. I guess it's something about INTERPRETIVE DANCE!
3. In my overview of one of the old Corpse Bride LJ communities, somebody brought up the question of how did Emily know Victor's name. The plausible explanation somebody brought up is that she knows Scraps, and thus realized at some point Guy I Just Married = Scraps's Owner = Victor! However, in the name of fun, somebody wrote this:
And I was just going to go with, "He has his name written on his boxers, which she'd inspected while he was unconscious. .. For research purposes."
Of course, my mind immediately flashed to a certain scene in BTTF (though it flashed back once I realized that it wouldn't be Emily in the Lorraine role, but NELL). That was funny enough -- but down near the bottom of the comment thread, there was this:
As long as he didn't wear purple underwear that led her to believe that his name was Calvin... :D
I wish that entry wasn't from 2005 so I could go "MOTHERFUCKING WIN" on it. XD
