February Off To A Decent Start
Feb. 1st, 2010 10:51 pmI got a good chunk more read on Moving Pictures -- quite enjoying it so far. I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes. And laughing at all the little references that are getting stuck in. Also, two members of the Night Watch showed up, which was nice. :)
-VD: Are the Night Watch your new favorite characters?-
Second-favorite, I think. Rincewind's always going to be my favorite, but damn do I like Sam Vimes. And DEATH too. Frankly, I pretty much like any character who's not a villain. Terry Pratchett writes some very interesting people.
I've also been inspired fan-fic wise. Finished that crossover Drabbles88 -- hopefully you should see that soon -- and wrote another, mostly Corpse Bride fanfic.
-TTV: O.o Mostly?-
Well, the fic was inspired by a line I put into "The Solicitor's Ward," so it's got some American McGee's Alice/Alice In Wonderland in it. Not sure if it's enough to label it a true crossover, though. I'll try to let you guys see that soon too.
-VD2: Glad to hear things are picking up.-
Me too. I don't like these creatively dead spots any more than you do.
-RPD: Now if you could just do something with that journal. . . .-
-RPM: To be fair, Doc, what do you want to her to do? It's only getting used if we show up at the Inkwell.-
-DW: She did have the idea of doing muse biographies.-
Yeah, remind me to get on that. And to do that page for my RP characters already. Even if I'm not doing threads with them yet, I ought to give them a mention on my website.
And in other news, my minifigures arrived today! :D I now own the Land of the Living - Van Dort set! Here, I have some pictures of them set up on my shelf (clickable thumbnails time):

The whole gang -- Nell and William are in the background, Victor's by Wedding!Victoria, and Pastor Galswells is pointing at them from the side. Most of them were pretty easy to set up, but William was a bitch to get into his little stand -- mostly because his cane appears to be slightly longer than his legs. I managed it, though.

A closer look at Victor, Victoria, and Galswells. I like this Victor mainly because he's the only one who does the tie-twisting thing. I think that's rather cute.
-TTV: Hence why my nickname refers to it?-
Precisely. :D

The best view of Nell -- interestingly, the feather in her hat, her fan, and her -- I assume it's mink -- stole are all made out of a softer plastic than the rest of her.

Victor and Victoria, nervous soon-to-be-newlyweds.
They're nice little figures, overall. Now I just need to track down the other two sets. I suppose I can live without the Everglot set -- if I just get Land of the Dead, I'll still have all three mains -- but I'd really like to get everyone if I can.
-VDM: How about your bid on the plushie Victor?-
Only bidder so far, and the auction ends around midnight -- I do believe I'm going to have a Victor I can cuddle soon. :D I mean, I can snuggle Jun!Victor if I want, but it's a little tough without worrying I'm going to break him.
Okay, I do believe I've earned some more time for myself -- off to browse the web. Good night, everyone!
