The Inanimate Turned Animate
May. 6th, 2010 10:44 pmFinally got a chance to see Night At The Museum 2: Battle For The Smithsonian. Overall impressions -- not quite as good as the first movie, but it made me laugh, so I deem it good. Everybody's favorite cowboy and Roman general are in fine form, and the new villain is quite amusing. I think they could have handled a certain subplot better, though -- it kind of hits you out of nowhere. It doesn't take up much screen time, at least. Mostly it's all about the running around and making silly jokes.
At any rate, this has revived my interest in living toys and such, so I'm watching (with Victor Plush, Alice Dolly, Growf, and Errol) a Let's Play of the game Chibi-Robo. Which is extremely weird, and yet so CUTE! The titular character is ADORABLE! :D The human characters remind me of MySims/Miis, especially Jenny. It does look like fun.
Of course, all of this comes at a price -- I've given poor Victor Plush a bit of an existential crisis over at his Twitter. Basically, he's starting to wonder how he's up and talking, and who he truly is. I blame this on reading the "Loss of Identity" trope on TV Tropes before watching NatM2. Must figure out way to reassure him. (Though seeing the other toys' reactions could be amusing.)
