New 'Mates
Jun. 7th, 2010 10:40 pmWent up this afternoon to start registering for classes for CCRI. I've got three down -- I still need to sort out my math credits. Apparently pretty much all the classes for that are full up. X( But hey, it's a start.
-Muses: *nodnod, pat back*
As CCRI happens to be across the street from a Toys R Us, I decided to stop and see if I could pick up some new minimates. Apparently I have been grossly misinformed as to the availability of the BTTF DeLorean-mate (street date's been pushed back to July -- and incidentally, the Ghostbuster 4-pack I was looking for doesn't come out until the end of this month ^^;), so no luck there. I did manage to score a couple of new Bustermates, though:

Specifically, more G-2 era mates! Here we have "World of the Psychic" Peter (doesn't he look depressed?), and Vigo the Carpathian. Vigo comes with an alternate head-cap to turn him into Ray-go, while Peter comes with -- and this is kind of awesome -- a hairless cat! "Weird."

And here, we have G-2 costume Egon, complete with revamped PKE meter and ghost trap, and the captain of the Titanic. Perhaps an odd choice for a ghost, but hey, my boys could always use a couple more to bust.
I also managed to pick up the DVD of "Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland," so I have a nice Saturday ahead of me. (Though I'm still bummed about Blu-Ray getting the majority of the special features.)
-D: *looks at minimates* You're starting to run out of shelf space again.-
Starting? I ran out a long time ago. There's still that 4-pack with Janine to buy for the Busters, and I'll probably be picking up more Marvel at some point. (I need an MJ for my Petermates, and I'd really like to find Nightcrawler.) And, of course, the vehicles, as it's more than just the DeLorean I want to buy. Plus I'm still on the lookout for a Land of the Dead set for my Corpse Bride minifigures. Ye gods, I'm toy-obsessed.
-M: Forget more shelf space, Doc, she needs her own room to display all this stuff in.-
I'm inclined to agree, if only because then I could implement one of Mom's ideas and set up real dioramas. The guys at Millionaire Playboy have already made up playsets for the Bustermates. Hell, I could buy some Legos again and try and set up whole towns.
Oh, that reminds me, saw something cool in Toys R Us -- they had a pretty-much-full-size model of a stormtrooper general from Star Wars in the front, all made out of Lego. Those model builders are amazing guys. :D
