Today Is An Alice In Wonderland Day

Or, rather, today is the official launch of the American McGee's Alice Sequel Website. I -- was not impressed. The graphics in the screenshots are throwing me off, but that's a minor complaint. No, my major complaint has to do with the storyline.

Basically, from what they've released right now -- it looks like THE EXACT SAME GAME. I was wondering for a moment if they HAD decided to go the "remake" route. Granted, I'm not entirely sure what I was expecting, but I was hoping for more creativity.

As for the teaser trailer -- again, not that impressed. The whole "Alice's bloody mouth" thing seems pure gross-out factor. The trailer for the original game -- now THAT was good.

I know, so we'll see when a longer trailer is released. I'm still preferring the original, though.

Alice, naturally, had some thoughts on the matter. Trust me, when you look at some of the screenshots, you'll realize she's right about "zombie apocalypse Wonderland." What the HELL did they do to those card guards. . . .

Ah well, I'll keep an eye on the site, see what happens. Even if I decide the game's a bust, maybe we can get some new toys out of it. They're already doing a replica Vorpal Blade. Which, ah, I kind of want.
