Didn't realize it was Thursday already. :p

Bit of a stressful day here, though I'm feeling a bit better now. Did some more organizing around here, then went off to New Student Orientation. Which was in a freezing cold room, and didn't cover much more than what I'd already figured out prior to going. *sigh* There was some new stuff, but in the end, I don't think it needed to last the three and a half hours it did. Also, I was hoping to get my textbooks while I was up there, but the shop closes at 3:30 in the summer. So I'm gonna have to go back up a different day to get them. Hmph -- gotta be done, though. After that, Dad and I went up to Best Buy to get some insurance for Chester, then went back and got Mom from her class.

So yes, just over a week of freedom left, then school starts. Still, my schedule is pretty good for this semester -- just so long as I get my books, I'll be fine. I'm planning another mall trip, though I'll have to be a bit stingy with the money. Don't want to deplete my savings too quickly. (That's the one problem with leaving the job -- no more paycheck.)

Anyway, I got things to do, so later all.

-->Played one of my Eureka "civilian" families in Sims today -- the Smiths and their toddler. Finally got to use some of the more antique-looking baby furniture, and the toddler table. :D I'm also working on teaching the toddler the nursery rhyme. I'm also happily giving out Aspiration benefits and secondary Aspirations to anyone I can give them to. And I figured out two predestined hobbies -- the toddler, Robert, apparently likes Fitness, while the mother, Melody, is into Nature. FreeTime is fun!

-->Also related to Sims -- once I get Apartment Life, I'm thinking of using one of the minihoods to make the Inkwell cast (though I'm not entirely sure how they're going to fit together yet). I'm just waiting til the last one to have full functionality, so to speak -- also gives me more time to plan out how to make a Victor. He's honestly the hardest one there -- Doc and Marty I've made before multiple times, Alice I have, Lucy and Dee have real-people PBs to work with, and even Simon's animated countenance would be easier to do. Oh, Tim Burton and your puppets. . .

-->Speaking of which, it was his birthday yesterday, how about that. And a happy belated to [livejournal.com profile] darkjediprinces as well.

-->Thing which has made me laugh: Chester the Laptop has preloaded games. One of them is Mahjong Titans. I haven't played computer mahjong since we had the Compaq.

Which was one of our first computers. With WINDOWS 3.1.

The only way this could be any more full circle is if Windows 7 came with Ski Free. XD

-->While I'm on the subject, I've given Chester a bit of customization -- the desktop is purple now, and my Firefox on there has an Alice "skin" and a Corpse Bride start page. :D Well, considering the laptop is named after their kid. . . .

-->For some reason, I've discovered a love for this fan mash-up trailer. I'm not a Nightmare on Elm Street fan in the slightest -- I think it's the music combined with the fact Victor's in it. Though I noticed some unintended Fridge Brilliance in using Victor -- guess what Johnny Depp's first movie was?
-TTV: *frowns* I see you going through the Sleep and Dreams Tropes on TV Tropes. You've already decided I'm a chronic insomniac, and you've done nightmare plots with both my fanfic selves and DGVictor. No more!-
Actually, Secundus!Victor has strange dreams as part of his plot arc -- but I promise you, they're just WEIRD, not nightmares.
-TTV: *looks suspicious*-
-TD: No, she means it. It's a feature from Girl Genius's world that she's sort of carrying over. Agatha had intense mechanically-minded dreams while breaking through and sleep-sparking.-
-TTV: Oh. So Secundus!me--
Yeah, nice butterfly dreams. If weird and intense and marking his going a bit Creative.
-TTV: Well, I suppose those are all right. . . .-
And in case of future nightmares, he'll have an Alice to hug him. I think that came up in my fifty sentences too. . . . *wonders if she should make a list of every time she's shitted up Victor's sleep*
