MAJOR Alice Influx Today
Apr. 8th, 2011 11:52 pmNew gameplay videos, new trailer, new section on the official website, new interview with American McGee, new screenshots, new puzzle game with prizes. . . . April 8th is apparently "Throw Everything Alicey Out At People."
-OD: *Albert* You must have enjoyed seeing it, though. *Doc* Especially since one of the domains featured is Hatter's.-
Oh, indeed. It looks deliciously steampunky. And her dress for that area looks awesome too. As do the enemies (which I really have to stop finding cute, because, you know, their purpose in life is to KILL ALICE). It's nice to see more of the game -- though I'd still kill for a proper demo.
-M: Find out any new tidbits?-
Yeah, though I currently can't remember all of them. Alice is living in a "home for wayward girls" of sorts, though. And she DID have an older sister, though we have no name for her yet. Jury's still out if she ever had a brother, though.
-VD: Brother??-
Yeah. He's mentioned VERY briefly in Alice's Adventures In Wonderland (emphasis mine):
"Would it be of any use, now," thought Alice, "to speak to this mouse? Everything is so out-of-the-way down here, that I should think it very likely it can talk: at any rate, there's no harm in trying." So she began: "O Mouse, do you know the way out of this pool? I am very tired of swimming about here, O Mouse!" (Alice thought this must be the right way of speaking to a mouse: she had never done such a thing before, but remembered having seen, in her brother's Latin Grammar, "A Mouse -- of a mouse -- to a mouse -- a mouse -- O mouse!")
I don't recall any other mentions of him in either book, so he'd be pretty damn easy to overlook.
-M2: Weird.-
I know. Poor forgotten Alice's brother. . . .
Anyway, I'll rewatch the videos and write down what we learn so I can report on it properly. In the meantime, there's an update over at
eurekasims -- Captain Nemo the Servo is online! And wants to be a Media Magnate. I've made him a Knowledge/Fortune Sim in response. Though I think I have to avoid sending him into showers -- I sent him into Emmett's to clean it shortly after I got my pics for the update, and for some reason all his needs just PLUMMETED. No idea why. I plan to energize him once he wakes up.
-D: Sure that's safe?-
He used the thinking cap without any problems. . . .
