crossover_chick: gif with Doc and Marty trying to get out of being written into twisted AUs (Default)
So, today was the great job fair! I took the 10:02 bus into Providence, since the fair started at noon and I wasn't planning on sticking around for funtimes afterwards. Business trip, basically. Went there, had a wander around Newbury's, then went to Subway and got a personal pepperoni pizza to change things up from always having sandwiches. Then I had another wander around Newbury's before hitting the fair a little after noon.

Fair was mostly a guy at a table outside, handing out applications and making jokes with all the potential employees. After you filled out your app, you had a mini-interview with someone back in the food court. Right after I'd finished filling out mine, a lady came up who was apparently in charge of the mall and started complaining about traffic flow problems. Apparently the Gamestop people lining up in the food court was interfering with the people trying to get to the food in said court. She also didn't approve of the table outside the store. So the guy had us line up against the railing and sent us out a couple at a time to the interviewers while they moved the table inside the shop. The wait was kind of nerve-wracking -- I engaged in a little conversation with my fellow applicants, and even managed to answer a question for the guy talking to us (he was trying to remember the name of a full-motion-video game about a knight where the only real gameplay was hitting up, down, left, or right at the right time -- I quickly realized that he was talking about "Dragon's Lair," by Don Bluth.) We also talked some about my Alice shirt (I'd worn it because -- well -- video games), and he said I should try Myst. *shrug* Maybe one day.

My interviewer's name was Josh, apparently from the New Hampshire district. He asked me some questions about what I'd done with my previous jobs -- I think he was most impressed with me telling him about shelving books in the family bookstore. Apparently there's a LOT of organization that goes into putting games on the shelves. He also asked me about customer service and video games and suchlike. I think I made a decent impression -- at the very least, once I was IN the interview, my stomach stopped aching from nerves and I was able to talk to him -- so we'll see!

After that, I had one last wander around Newbury's (mostly because I had some time to kill, but it seemed pointless to go to D & B because that time was less than a half-hour), then hit DQ for a small S'mores Blizzard. Suuuugary -- yum yum. :D And then it was back to the house, on the most crowded bus I've been on in a while. I actually got off a stop earlier than I meant to because I just couldn't take the cramped conditions anymore. That, of course, meant a slightly longer walk through the muggy heat, which was -- ugh. I've only had this air conditioner about three days, and already it has become vital to my existence. Thank you Dad.

Not much else to report -- the majority of my time at home has been eating supper and catching up on Twitter and Tumblr. And watching the latest Nostalgia Critic, because I figured "I'd already had my dessert, so I don't have to save it to watch with my dessert." It was on Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie, and it was amusing. Especially the ending. XD Brought back a few interesting memories too -- as a kid, I was actually fond of the Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. I even had a Pink Ranger doll. :) I don't think I ever watched any of the other franchises, though. It frankly astonishes me that we've HAD so many. O.o Crazy, man, crazy.

Anyway! I have some tags that I ought to get to, and a few last things to check up on, so, later!
