Okay. Applications.
Jul. 5th, 2013 10:50 pmWHY ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH DO YOU CARE ABOUT WHERE I WENT TO GRAMMAR SCHOOL?!
I mean, seriously? It's been YEARS for me! I don't even remember where I went! (Reasonably certain it was Curtis Corner, but I can't be sure.) Why do you CARE? High school I understand, you want your employees to have at least a high school education or some sort of equivalent. But MIDDLE SCHOOL? Dear lord. . . And it's kind of driving me nuts that I can't remember now. Ugh. At least the Gamestop app didn't ask for that. . .
As you can probably guess by that little rant, job search is still in effect. I've been taking advantage of an RP lull to finish up some applications. They're pretty much done except for this "grammar school" nonsense. *grr* I also clipped out a classified from Newport Fed for a part-time position -- that one requires a resume and cover letter. Fortunately I have a resume on-hand, and I can find a template for a cover letter easily enough.
In other news, today was Dad's birthday! Along with the birthday of Huey Lewis and Claudia Wells -- happy birthday to all! We got Dad king crab legs for a special birthday supper, and Mom made a chocolate cake sprinkled with little candy stars. XD We were going to go out somewhere, but it was too hot and humid, and we couldn't think of anyplace anyway. So another day in the air conditioning for me! July seems to be of the opinion that, if I have the machine, I should work it as hard as possible. Ah well. Makes life more liveable than it was with just the fans.
Quiet day otherwise, though
butterflyboy got a little thread going with a creature called Catbug -- part cat, part ladybug, all cute. :) I got another dark fairy tale written (a short one this time), and editing done on Chapter 12 of "Forgetting You." And Chapter 11 -- my usual "spots the stuff that doesn't quite work" reviewer poked me about a few minor details that could be tweaked. It's nothing major, but I do intend to put up a slightly-edited version addressing her points (Victor being possibly uncharacteristically stupid in just letting Alice go to Radcliffe's & Victor perhaps accepting Wonderland stuff a touch too easily) later.
Okay, my insanity over trying to remember where I went to middle school has led me to fall way behind on tumblr. Time to play catch-up. Applications can be completed tomorrow. And next week, we'll see about maybe getting an auction or two up on e-Bay. Worth a shot.
