Tired All Day Today
Aug. 2nd, 2013 11:02 pmNot sure why -- though I have been having some pretty weird dreams lately. I blame Helloween's LP for sending my thoughts down weird roads. Today's (well, yesterday's, but I watched it today) installment was pretty amazing, though. Fat physicians, cities of cosmic horror under Rhode Island (I can dig it), and all sorts of runes and stuff to be picked up. And lots of magic to learn! Got to see Damage Field in action -- probably best for warding doors or something like that, I would imagine. I also like how enchanting objects in this game makes them glow with magickal energy. Glowing weapons are just somehow cooler.
In other news, thought today was going to have shitty weather, but it actually turned out pretty nice. Got a good walk in, so I was pleased with that. We also got a modem upgrade -- Mom and Dad apparently had to get a new one when they paid the internet bill. Dad also got a new printer for the new computer. There's a sudden surge of new technology into this household. It's WEIRD.
Jobs continue to be scarce. Mom thinks I should take a class at CCRI to get more skills in a certain area. While I can't say that's a bad idea, I'm already running short on money, and I'm worried that even with financial aid, something like that might bankrupt me. And if I CAN'T get a job even WITH the extra training. . . I just wish Craigslist wasn't so full of junk ads. At least I can take pride in the fact that people seem to like my new NPC/History page for
mallowhallow. Makes me feel like I'm doing well on the modly front.
Still enjoying Monstrous Regiment -- the characters, as always, are really interesting. And I can't help but like Lt. Blouse, who may not always know the best way to run an army, but definitely has some smarts nonetheless. Judging by his musings on the clacks, he'd probably make a good computer guy in our world. :P
Speaking of fiction, I'll be releasing Chapter 13 on "Forgetting You" on Sunday. It's pretty much ready to go, but I want it to coincide with either the success or failure of the "Alice: Otherlands" kickstarter. Which may in fact still be in the running: $174,394 with 43 hours to go. It's gonna be right down to the wire, I think. I figure a chapter when it finishes will serve equally well as a celebration and a spirits-lifter. I'll probably put up my slightly-tweaked version of "Darkest Hour" tomorrow, though.
And now, I should have some tags to attend to, so later.
