First Day On The Job

Yeah, it's official -- I'll be pulling the occasional shift as housewatcher/patient-watcher (I don't want to say "babysitter," the woman is old enough to be my grandma and reasonably with it) to help my mom out at her job and make some cash. The house is nice enough, though populated by two very friendly dogs. I get a little nervous around dogs, so having them be all "HIIII" was slightly off-putting. More off-putting was the monitor I was supposed to use to keep an eye on my "patient" dying on me right at the beginning of my shift. >.< Bleh. Still, I survived, met the lady, had a bit of nice light conversation, and got thirty bucks for a hour and a half there, so -- yeah. Will also be going over on Friday to give Mom a break -- this time I should be able to get onto the wifi.

The whole day's been rather on the busy side -- getting the "Fog World" event for mallowhallow all officially introduced via my favorite mod character to mess with; finishing up conversations on FF.net; finishing up the first draft of Chapter 18 of "Forgetting You"; watching Hamnesia with Helloween over lunch; playing another round of "American McGee's Alice" -- up to the stage right before the Duchess boss fight; going out with Mom to get a new pair of sneakers (I'd somehow worn a hole right through the MIDDLE of the heel of my old pair); going for a walk with Mom (it's been warm and gorgeous out); talking my shower and having supper; and then going out to house-and-person-sit. Actual RP beyond the mallowmod stuff fell quite a bit to the wayside -- to be fair, the boys aren't feeling all that strong today. Couple that with getting onto the tumblrs WAY late thanks to everything, and I figured it wasn't even worth it. Hopefully I can make up for it a bit tomorrow.

Right now, though? I'm going to catch up with the "Not Always _______" sites. Later!
