Would you believe I just entered Queensland? :D My late-night Alice session proved to be a lot more fruitful than I thought -- since I've got all the fully-upgraded weapons and know all the moves, getting through the fights took a lot less time than usual, and I was able to finish off the Mysterious East before going to bed. Today I decided to go ahead and do my Alice in the morning a) so I wouldn't get caught up in other stuff and forget & b) because playing Queensland while writing about Queensland has to be helpful, right? (Though I've still got Rythian's LP around to give an extra hand.) Notes:

-->There's lots of creepy and goofy faces in the scenery that I never noticed before in the Mysterious East, like a demon face looming over the prison village. Also, some of the pots and stuff are WEIRD-looking creatures. Japan, China, the rest of the Orient, you have some wild imaginations.
-->One day I will learn to press Shift fast enough to dodge the Wasps' attacks. Grr. I actually found myself backtracking into the cage area again to look for roses after a pair of them whacked a few off my health bar. I have to fight a Colossal Ruin after you, guys!
-->. . .And then I basically did that fight with no damage. XD Basically, I IMMEDIATELY took out both Ink Wasp nests, then ran for the high ground, where I murdered the Samurai Wasps at my leisure before going down and taking out the Colossal Ruin. Go me!
-->The Wasp hideout I suppose is supposed to look like spit-out paper, like one of their nests. It's appropriately icky.
-->Got my last Radula room -- that Radula scroll is quick and really easy. Then again, I guess they figure it's the last one, and there's enough hazards for you to navigate elsewhere. I also get the feeling I did it wrong -- I'm pretty sure there's a rock you're supposed to use to plug a pot vent, but I just jumped over the thing and continued. :P
-->Speaking of pot vents -- the 3-D ones have clouds on them. Neat!
-->Last fight of the chapter did not go as well as the Colossal Ruin one, but it could have gone a lot worse had I not pre-peppered the snout and got myself some high ground to fight from! The real problem with that fight is the archers -- you've got to take them out quickly, but you can't stay still for fear of being hit by stuff. Jumping up on those tiles allowed me to finally kill the lot, take out the Samurai Wasps without them hurting me, and then finally face the Daimyo one on one. Whew!
-->The controls in the scrolls are shite, seriously. One day I will play this game with a controller and find out once and for all if Alice handles better like that.
-->The sky above Caterpillar's particular section of the mountain looks like swirling red paint on canvas! Kind of awesome.
-->I've indicated in "Forgetting You" the doors of the Bow Street station pull open, but in the game it looks like they push open. Uh -- pretend they go both ways for me?
-->CARDBRIDGE CARDBRIDGE SQUEEE OMG I LOVE THIS PLACE SO MUCH IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL AND NO ENEMIES JUST THAT DAMN DOOR TO DEAL WITH AND I GOT THAT IN ONE GO BECAUSE I KNOW WHAT TO DO NOW WOOOO
-->Only other problem with Cardbridge? Too damn short. :( I wanna stay in the pretty sunny card area longer. . .
-->Queensland. Ugh. At least I've mastered the slide by this point.

I'm currently parked outside the first Radula Room, right before you enter the castle proper and meet the undead Card Guards. I'll get to those bastards tomorrow. Right now, writing! And then properly catching up on all the net stuff.
